I admit I am a bit leary of water so I have never considered a Cruise. But with the 2 day NYC Cruise to Nowhere we figured we would give it a try. I booked us for the July trip.
So what happens next? From what I can tell, most dining, activities, etc can't be booked until 75 days prior to our trip, is that correct?
I can plan a WDW trip in my sleep but am a fish out of water with this one!
I plan to read all I can over the weekend but wanted to get some tips from the experts on these boards!
Your dining assignment will be assigned to you at check-in. It will be listed on your Key To The World Card. It has been reported that for the 2 day cruises
DCL will put you in the same dining room both nights instead of rotating you through the 3 main dining rooms as they do on a longer cruise. The only dining room on the Magic that you would have to book separately would be Palo and that has a $20 pp charge to dine there....but is very worth!!!
All your other meals are included in the cruise, including 24 room service....got a craving for a sandwich at 3:00 am...no problem...call and it will be delivered to room in a few minutes.
Soft drinks are complimentary on DCL from the soda machine on Deck 9 (as well as tea, coffee, milk, Hi-C), and all the dining rooms. If you order soda through room service it will come in a can and you will be charged for it. Same with bottled water...it has a charge. Any soda ordered at a bar or lounge or passing drink server by the pool will have a charge (as it comes in a can).
DCL allows you to bring your own alcoholic beverages onboard with you to consume onboard. If you bring a bottle of wine into the dining to drink during dinner they will charge you a corking fee of 18% even if the bottle is already opened (or box wine). The charge is a service fee for brining the booze into the dining and not for the physical act of opening the bottle. you can bring a full glass of wine in with no problem and consume what you want in your own cabin.
Keep reading these boards....there is so much info here. There is no info yet on port transfers, port arrival times or boarding times yet for the NYC cruises so we will have to wait for that info to come out from Disney.
All shipboard activities will be listed in your Navigator (daily newletter). Since this is a cruise to nowhere there will be no excursions so you don't have to worry about booking those. All other entertainment like the main production shows are included in your cruise price and you will be advised on which night, which show is.
