what happens in your MDE if you have linked tickets but have to postpone or cancel?

I am about to order our tix thru UT (I know Orbitz is less but I need more flexibility than they offer).
I also know UT will allow a refund (less 5%) if you have NOT linked your tix to you're MDE
However, IF I have caved and linked them to have our 60 day window for FP times...and then we have to change dates, I know I can't return the tickets, but do you just go in and re-do your new dates?
Since I don't have the tix yet I can't go in and play around, familiarize myself with the system (unless there is a sample one out there)
Our MNSSHP tix will also be in need of changing dates too, but have not ordered those yet either.. I htought it's possible to change those dates if availability is there on another party date but will need to call WDW to verify

man, DH work better not mess with out trip Mo-Jo.. been there done that with them already, it's not cool

anyone? Does the slate just wipe clean, and your same ticket ID # that was linked in stay active and you just re-book at your new 60 or 30 day window?Does a new # get assigned to the same tickets? It may be super obvious but I am missing it~ sorry!

Your park tickets become active only once you have used them at the gate. If you have made FP+ just cancel them if you won't be using them.
