Will they still seat you if your reservation is for three, but only two end up showing up?

I was curious because I was just told by the CM (when I made the ADR) that if we did show up with just two, instead of three, they wouldn't seat us.

Thanks so much!

That's a tough one. It probably depends on how busy the restaurant is and the prerogative of the cast member. A table for three is almost always designed to accomodate four. Booking for three and then showing up with only two means putting a twosome at a table that can hold four. Okay if the restaurant isn't full, but if it is full, they may turn you away or make you wait for a no-show 2 person table to come up. Or, the cast member may just seat you at the 4 person table anyway. Impossible to predict.

you will be seated. not to worry.

This happened to us, my mom got sick once, and had to go back to the room. We ate without her. No problem. If it is a meal at the castle, where you have to put a deposit down, I am not sure how that would work.

Another "don't worry" post here. We showed up 3 short (out of 7) at Sci-Fi and had no problem (or extended wait).

I can't believe they told you over the phone you would not be seated. That is very "un" Disney.

They will seat you. If nothing, tell them the other person is in the bathroom. Normally nobody will ask questions about that :) Once you are seated, they'd never ask you to leave.

They will seat you. No worries. You are not reserving a table anyway. With ADR they sit you on what opens up.

The "won't seat you" may have been a misunderstanding on the CMs part of your question - if your party is meeting at the restaurant, you won't be seated until all of you are there.

However, as others have noted, if your party size has changed, you simply tell the CM when you check in that there will only be 2 today instead of 3 and you will be seated at "the next available table for your party size" :)

You will be fine, On my most recent trip, I was one person short on two dinners and there was no issue about being seated.

It shouldn't be a problem at all. We were there in March for a quick trip and had dinner plans with some friends for CMs. We were coming in after a cheerleading competition in Jacksonville and were a little later than we planned. Our friends decided they didn't want to go to a TS restaurant. I was worried because it was going to be just myself and dd and that is absolutely her favorite place. I tried at our hotel to see if they had an ADR available for 2 and there was nothing. I decided to go to CMs anyway and just ask if it was possible for us to be sat. We were booked for a party of 6 and it turned out to be just 2 of us. They said it wasn't a problem and they sat us within about 5 minutes. DD was extremely happy.

I have never seen them turn away for this. We showed up at LeCellier with about three or four less then I made reservations for and no problem....

Never had a problem, you don't need to worry. They will seat you.

Didn't have any problems here with reservations for 3 and only showing with two. We were originally supposed to also have my cousin along, but were told the wrong dates of her graduation. Needless to say, she decided to walk instead of going to Disney (crazy girl! :rotfl: ).

They never said anything and we didn't wait any long periods of time to be seated.

I was told the same thing and even though you know you will be seated - it is frustrating to have a cm put that fear into you. I did not like the response I got either. :scared:
