What happens after ROFR? Anxious for our points!

What's happens after a contract (hopefully) passes ROFR? Does anyone know the approximate time after that before the points are "in the system" and we can use them? Next week is the 11 month window for HHI (where we bought our points) and I know they won't be usable then! They're still in ROFR, about 3 weeks since they were sent to Disney. Since I'm really anxious to book a vacation with those points, can anyone give me an idea of approximately when we might have them available to use?

After it is approved (Disney has up to 30 days), you get the paperwork from the Closing Company, takes up to a week or so, then you send certified funds, or wire them funds. They close, which can take up to another week, and then a week later, you are in the system. So after approval or ROFR, it is approximately 3 - 4 weeks before you are in the Disney system.

We were notified we passed ROFR about three weeks after the contract was submitted to Disney. That was on a Monday. We received closing documents on Friday. The following Friday we were closed (our sellers were quick to return closing docs), and the Friday after that our points were in the system. The time that passed from when we made our offer to making a reservation was almost six weeks. We were lucky to have sellers who were great about returning documents quickly, and TTS and Magic Vacation Title seemed to handle everything in a timely manner, so six week is probably close to a best case scenario unless Disney waives ROFR very quickly.

Our contract was submitted to Disney on Oct 19th. We passed ROFR on Nov 12th. We turned out closing documents around within a day. The seller was from Asia, so it took about a week to get notarized documents in, but the seller worked very hard as well. We closed and the documents were sent to Disney on November 29th. We were in the Disney system (but not our points) by Saturday, December 4th. We thus could check on reservations and dates that day. We got the points into the system on Monday, December 6th. We booked a vacation for January 15-25, 2011 on December 6, 2010. It worked out fine. We're at OKW and SSR.

We were very pleased with the Timeshare store for closing and Magic Vacation Title as well.

Thanks, all. So it looks like it will be about another month before I can get to use those points (I'm already kind of jumping the gun by assuming we'll pass ROFR). That will be more like 10 months out than 11, but I figure that we've got a pretty good chance at getting our reservations as long as we're still way out from the 7 month window. HHI is at 100% capacity at Thanksgiving, but I met a few couples who'd traded in from other timeshares. I don't know how far ahead they can do that, so I'm not sure who our "competition" is besides HHI owners.

Hi! We're still waiting for the documents to sign and send in the final payment. I know that this is taking much longer than usual. We began around October 15, passed ROFR around Thanksgiving, and now we're waiting again. I wish you a speedier sale!

We intend to bank the '11 points, and hope for Thanksgiving in '12. We're planning to use the banked '10 points at 7 months for October '11, so we still have time to use the points as we wish, but it is trying my patience!!!

Good Luck on getting past ROFR Simba's Mom. I just read another thread about ROFR that shows Disney is mainly buying back BCV points and letting other sales go through, so you should be ok.

My last two resales have been Fidelity contracts brokered by Jaki and Kin. Though the waiting for ROFR part was exactly the same as other resales I've bought, the "closing- points available" part has been better. For one of those contracts, I closed, showed up on the member website AND had my points- ALL in the same day. Hopefully, you'll get so lucky.
