What happened to lightning ports?

I thought I had heard that VGF and maybe some others had upgraded to the lightning port alarm clocks like at the Poly, but I just checked into a VGF studio and see this- see attached pic.
I did bring a charger so I'm ok, but had heard differently.

When we were moved to a WL suite this summer because of a broken shower in our VWL villa ... The WL iHome clock had the Lightning connector.

I'm guessing the OP heard about GF cash rooms

So the cash deluxe rooms were all given those but not the villas except for the Poly?

I guess I can't cite a specific post without a bunch of research because it's been months, but I was sure I had heard the GF had gotten them. Anyway not trying to start a huge complaint but nobody has the 4S anymore, time to replace those lol.

And I do want to say, I'm not trying to complain, because I'm very impressed by VGF, very nice resort and very happy with my room overall. Super luxurious in every way except that. The toiletries and robes are over the top, lol.

Cash rooms would be updated by Disney. Replacing all the alarm clocks in the DVC rooms would be paid out of member dues. I'd guess that it's not in the budget, but it doesn't seem like it'd be that expensive.

Well if we estimate that they would need about 200 for the VGF, and they're probably about $50 each from iHome, then it would cost about $10,000 to replace them. I don't know if that's a big budget item for that building- maybe they think the money is better spent on all the heaps of toiletries and stamping the toilet paper and tissues with the GF logo to impress. The nightstand does have a USB port, so maybe they don't think it's super urgent.
