What goes into a good salad?

Salad wouldn't go over very well at my house. We only eat a certain amount of fresh lettuce, etc. and it might mean your salad or salad makings I had already purchased might go bad before they got eaten. Do you know if they are big salad eaters?

Like some others here, I'd probably go with something that is more of a treat (like bread or dessert) that would fit with any meal if I was suprising someone - something that could easily be stuck in the freezer if it wouldn't be eaten right away. I think calling and asking her beforehand if you can provide the meal one Monday and then showing up with a salad AND a family friendly casserole ready to go in the oven is an even better idea.

I agree.. A salad would not be my first choice..:)

i like a nice salad with either romaine or field greens, a fruit (dried cranberries, cut up grapes, crazins), a nut (pine nuts, sliced almonds, walnuts), and a cheese (blue, feta, goat), and either balsamic vinegar or red vinegar (depending upon the salad's ingredients) and olive oil.

Cesaer salad is always popular, too.

mte. :)
