what funny thing has your cat done?

Well, mine was sleeping so soundly on the backrest of my recliner once that he rolled over in his sleep and fell off of it. He didn't seem to think it was very funny, though.

My cat used to drink out of the sink... when she was little, she ran into walls (kind of like me)...she can open doors...and she's a little on the large side, so when she jumps up on the bed, she meows while she does it- we call it her "power merph"

Here she is (her name is Cricket):

Mine just hacked up a hairball in the bay window  Not funny but I thought I'd share :teeth: Eeeeewwwwwwww

When I was little we lived on the 10th floor of an apartment building. My cat would walk on the window ledges in the summer and go into our neighbors apartment. The ledge was no more than 6 inches wide and she would walk a good 20 feet to get to his apartment.

She took one walk to many. :guilty:

We used to have a cat that would climb up the door frames. It was funny until he started runing them. My Harley kitty now sucks on blankets or anything soft that left around. My Charlie kitty steals socks and hides them under the bed. I'm not quite sure why. And my darling son at age 3 or 4, when Harley was a kitten, attempted to shove him in the toilet. :lmao: Luckily I noticed it was a little too quiet in the house.

MY one cat LOVES shoes!! Any shoes. She lays on them or in them. I've seen her several times with one paw in each shoe likes she's wearing them!

awwwww, I'm sorry :guilty:

My cat would flush the toilet ALL the time...

Cricket does that, too!!! And she loves to lay in boxes. One time, our friends came over to play scattergories and she climbed in the box top and wouldn't get out. We had to turn her on her head to get her out of the box....I had never seen a cat turn a sommersault before... :rotfl:

One of our cats fetches aluminum foil balls. They have to be thrown so they go out of the room she's in at the time, or she just looks at them distainfully. If you have successfully thrown the ball, she will run, get it and bring it back to you to throw again--and she'll do it over and over and over.

We realized she did this when she kept going into the trashcan and getting out wadded up fast food foil wrappers.

As a kitten, my cat would climb the bookshelves and jump up on to the top of the room doors and pace back and forth.
She also has a bizarre habit of chasing her tail in the bathtub. She is white with black markings on the top of her head, a goatee on her chin & her tail is black. As a kitten, she didn't realize the tail was actually hers. It was the only black she could see.

Now, she is older and just eats plastic, which induces hairballs, which has lead to dental work. She has one fang, two molars and all those little front teeth left. The rest were rotted out & surgically removed.

My cat, Tucker, loves to bring socks up from the basement. He'll carry one up in his mouth and drop it on the floor or the stairs to the 2nd level. He's been known to bring up underwear and t -shirts, too. He's a little cat, so it astounds me that he carries up DH's XL shirts which are huuuge compared to him!!!! Tucker also likes to nurse on blankets and he kneads while doing so. It's soooo darling!!!!!

When Tucker and Henry (our other cat) "battle", they usually do so at the top of the stairs. Often, Henry will keeping forcing Tucker closer to the top of the stairs until he forces Tucker right off of them and Tucker slides right down them. You'd think that after the first couple times falling down the stairs, Tucker would learn not to battle so close to them!!!!

Not what the cat did... but what my son did to the cat...

I had a horrible migraine and my son, then 4 1/2 was in the living room watching movies, coloring, etc... while Mommy was in the bed wishing my head would fall off. :furious:

Well, Rajah, our cat... jump on my bed and I opened one eye (those with migraines can appreciate just how hard it is to do that) and I thought... wow, my head must really hurt... the cat looks kinda BLUE.

Sleep some more... wake up again, head feeling better.... Rajah is at the end of my bed and I'm thinking... WTH.... he IS BLUE. :rotfl2:

My son had colored Rajah BLUE with a washable marker on one entire side of his body. How the cat laid still enough for it to happen is still beyond me. :confused3

One of our current cats, Snickers, answers to her name! Every time you use her name in a conversation with her she meows in return. We stopped counting her responses at 14 in a recent "conversation".

To us, this is even more remarkable since we adopted Snickers and her "sister" when they were seven year olds from a friend. Our DS trained Snickers to follow him everywhere in the house like a puppy dog. She even goes in when he sits on the toilet or takes a shower. She will push open any door that is left open even a fraction of a crack by standing up and leaning all her weight on it!

Years ago we had a big calico cat named Misty who used to fall asleep with her back to us on top of our TV. Her huge fat tail would droop down, eventually blocking the screen making DH yell and scream. Suddenly Misty would wake up, roll over and fall to the FLOOR! She was always unhurt, looking like "What happened here?" but we were be holding our sides in laughter!

Then she moved and learned to sleep on the VCR. Eventually the tapes wouldn't work so we unplugged everything and took the top of the VCR off. You can guess what the problem was! About an inch deep of cat hair! UGH!

She also stole things from our trash can. We never did find that missing pork chop bone, even when when we moved!

I love these cat stories!

Ours still does drink out of the sink. As soon as DH comes home (and Tigger hears him before I do), he runs to the bathroom and meows until DH turns on the water for him. Also, DH recently bought me the armoire from the WL refurbishment. If the doors are open so I can watch TV, Tigger jumps up into the little area to the right below the TV and sleeps there. It's amazing that a 20 pound cat is so agile. He can jump up onto that area, turn around, and lie down, without bumping into anything. And he's long haired like Cricket. Is she at all Maine Coon?

The cat in my sig preferred hanging out with our choclate lab instead of the other 3 cats in the house. He only drank out of the dog's water bowl too. He liked to headbutt you with his forehead but his hair was so thick there we called him our "pillowtop" kitty :)
RIP Baxter

Krissy cuddles up next to me while I'm laying on my side, puts her head on the pillow like a human being, and "spoons" with me. She gets upset if you don't leave your arm wrapped around her. I've never known a cat to be so cuddly! Don't you dare pick her up though.

my kitties like to drink sweet iced tea out of a glass. I can't sit a glass of tea down without one of them taking it over. I call them little caffeine freaks. :lmao:

They chase their tails all the time. They are facinated with ceiling fans. They will sit under one and follow the rotation of the blades. :rotfl: Oh and our oldest male cat shadow has his very own posting id on the dis it's, you guessed it, Shadow Kitty.

Simba's Mom - I know exactly what you mean! Snicker's "sister" is a Maine Coon cat named Moxie who while she weighs only 14 pounds she feels like she is 30 pounds and she stretches her body out just like your Cricket! She loves to do this at the very top of our stairs completely blocking the path down.

Both our cats do a "power meow" before jumping up onto our high sleigh bed. I have no idea where they both learned it but it is sort of a warning too I think!

I'll have to upload a picture of these two!
