What Frugal Action Did You Take Today!?

Just wanted to say that if any of you coupon, I came across a really good deal at CVS today.

The Tylenol Precision Pain Patches (4ct) were on clearance for 1.94. I had $5.00 off coupons that were good for this week only. I had 3 coupons, so I made $9.18 off of that transaction.

More money for the souvenir fund!!! :woohoo:

Saved money 3 ways today l. Had a medical claim from July 2010, with a balance of $30.00. This was billed incorrectly and with a few discussions with the ins. company I found out today that they paid the $30.00. Why should I have to pay for someone's billing error when I know the service was covered in full. 2. Purchased new towels and bath carpets from Target. Washed them once and the color faded and the towels started to fall apart. I still had my receipt. Told customer service I was not satisfied with the quality and they refunded my $31.96. 3. Returned pajamas to Sears, in package never opened, refunded $20.00. Forgot, purchased a cake at the market yesterday, the icing tasted bad, took it back, refunded $9.99. Why should I throw it out and be out my hard earned money when it really did not taste good. Saved about $100.00 today.

My mom and I headed to the Cleveland Zoo this morning and got in for free since we are county residents. We also took our own water bottles to save money. We did get lunch but by bringing our own drinks and by combining some snack items to make a lunch we saved in the long run.

I made it out to a few stores today to coupon! While not exactly, "frugal", I saved over 80% of the non-coupon, non-card saver price! :) This is a step in the right direction for me (again) because after acquiring a 2nd job, I went back to stopping at one maybe two stores a week to get what we need. That = $$$

I paid $7.10 for a Gillete Fusion Proglide Razor, a 3 pack of Ivory bar soap, a 20 pack of Carefree Pantiliners, a 4 pack of toilet paper, a container disinfectant wipes, bandaids, toothpaste and a toothbrush, a travel sized deodorant, and 2 bottles of Nivea body wash!

I've already started Christmas shopping....don't worry many people are giving me weird looks when I tell them that BUT I've saved a lot of money.

I have a bunch of family and friends that love the foam soaps and the pump soap with the little beads in the from Bath and Body Works. They are normally $5 a piece but were on sale for 1.25. I picked up a few other items that were on sale and walked out spending $26. Came home and added it all up and found I saved $73 dollars. :cool1:

my mom is super hard to shop for so i normally buy her stuff to go out in her yard. She's a HUGE fan of frogs, windchimes and solar lights. Our Joann Fabrics has a 60% of sale on their outdoor items and I found a 20% off entire purchase coupon. Walked out with a LOT of items my mom will love spending only $57 AND saved $112.

Last but not least, our Kohls just remodeled their store so they sent out $10 gift cards that expire soon. I went out there to see if i could find anything that I just couldn't live without and noticed a 60%-70% off purse rack. I walked over and found the cutest red Vera Wang purse...80% off...it was only 15.80. I used to my gift card and I walked out spending $6.15 for a $80 purse. :yay:

my theory is yeah, I'm spending large amounts of money right now but its' really saving me time and money later when it comes to Christmas shopping. heck I only have a few more people to shop for but I'll put that on hold unless i find a super good deal like I have been. I mean, i can only squrriel away so much

Well, not hugely frugal, but smart shopping and decision making, I suppose. Rite Aid had some items on sale that I needed that offered those Plus Up rewards or whatever they are. I got $2 in Up rewards. I had a $3 coupon from a pharmacy survey. I used the $2 reward and the $3 coupon on one of the lawn canopies they had on sale, getting the canopy for $15.99. We have an EZ up canopy I got on sale for $53, but as I am a rain magnet this other one will be good if we have need for cover on a dreary day, or are on a camping trip and it's going to pour the whole time! (I kind of wanted to get 2 EZ up canopies but I couldn't justify the price when we rarely will need 2...but there are definitely times when we need 2!) The "cheap" canopy is normally $30, so I got it for almost half price. And if my measurements are correct, our screenhouse will fit on that frame, which is great because a thunderstorm broke our screenhouse frame into smithereens!

Oh, and this past weekend I returned some sandals to Kohl's I'd ordered online but hated, and returned some silk flowers to Michael's that I didn't need for a craft project. In the past I would have just kept the items because the stores are an hour away, but since we were going to be in the city anyway, I decided to bring it all back. (and bought the EZ up canopy on sale for $53!)

I've already started Christmas shopping....don't worry many people are giving me weird looks when I tell them that BUT I've saved a lot of money.

I've started my Christmas shopping too. I've picked up a few very nice gifts along the way.

I was killing time at a store today and came across some inexpensive items that would make nice gifts. Didn't buy them yet - I'm waiting for my loyalty program points "cheque" to come in, so that I can pick up the gifts for free.

Normally, my impulsiveness would have kicked in and I would have jumped at the opportunity to pick up Christmas gifts right away. Waiting a week or two won't kill me!

I don't think this really counts, but I "saved" $50 by ordering the insert and cover separetly for the Anywhere Chair from Pottery Barn Kids for DD's birthday present. It would have been $140 including tax and shipping by ordering from PBK directly, but I ordered the insert from ebay for $50 and the cover from PBK for $40 inclusive. I am slightly nervous the insert won't fit, but I read everything thoroughly and it should be the exact same thing.

I also wanted to go out for lunch, but ate in instead. Also, decided to stay close to home to conserve gas. In the morning drove 2 miles to the beach to play in the sand, and in the afternoon we went on a walk around the neighborhood then played in the backyard for a bit. Also refrained from ordering other things online :rolleyes1

I made a pizza from scratch with ingredients I couponed to get....so the whole thing cost me about $3 (this includes lots of cheese and peperroni) since DH is out of town on business....it will feed me and the kids for 2-3 days for dinner.

I paid $1.50 oop for 70 size 5 luvs diapers at Rite Aid....between coupons and my UPs+ from last week.
