What form of payment do you use for everyday things?

Actually, I believe that someone pays with CASH and everything stops cold. I really hate that commercial.

I charge every single thing I possibly can on our AAdvantage MasterCard in order to rack up the airline miles. Our family of 5 flew to Hawaii and in between 3 islands for free just with miles from everyday purchases. We do pay the card off every single month though, we never carry a balance.

Between charging everything possible and paying bills online, we rarely write a check anymore.

The one I just saw was a lady with a checkbook. Maybe there is another one where someone is paying with cash.

I haven't seen the commercial, but it's true. Cash or checks take forever, with a cc it's just a quick swipe and you're done.

We use On-line and CC for everything .

I only have to write 1 check per month ,thats to our garage rental . I pay DM the rent and stuff with cash everything else goes on the CC.

Debit card for me. And it has reward points too, which is very cool.

I agree about the VISA commercial though. They conveniently leave out waiting for the receipt to print and then signing it...and let's not mention when the computers are down or your stripe is worn through too much use, or you have "SEE ID" written on it and you have to find your license buried in the bottom of your purse.

I use credit, but the 2 I use I really my bank cards, I just use them as credit and not debit. One bank gives us reward points for using as credit and the other we have a roll the chnage savings account so when I use it as credit it rounds it up on my statement and puts the change into savings.

I do pay for my groceries by check though...no clue why, I just do. And I do have small amounts of cash on me just in case.

And I do think I've seen similar commercials with both checks and cash. IMO cash is fine, it's checks that slow things down. Especially when people refuse to write out the check before getting to the register.

CC - to take advantage of the rewards. BUT if I couldn't pay it off every month, I'd probably use the debit card. I hate checks - filling out the damn thing takes so long - and I just dont like cash b/c it is too easy to spend. And if the f'ing hobos who circle around every food establishment and metro station in DC see that you have cash they'll ask for some. I HATE the doggone vagrants!

I agree, they need to enforce it in the Speed lane of EVERY Grocery store, Debit or Credit ONLY!!!!! The speed lane would easily speed along than!
