What fitness tracker does everyone use?

I'm looking for something that is waterproof, has a display that shows steps, heart rate etc... and monitors your sleep.

The Fitbit Flex 2 is water-resistant to 50 meters, and so is the Apple Watch Series 2. Both will do steps and heart rate, and Fitbit includes sleep tracking. You'd need an extra app for that with the Apple Watch.

The biggest downside to tracking sleep with the Apple Watch is the battery life. You can't wear it 24/7 because the charge won't last that long. You'd probably need to take it off in the evening to charge it, put it on overnight, and then charge it again in the morning if you want it to last through a workday.

When you say waterproof do you mean water resistant or swim proof?

The Flex 2 is swim proof but it does not do heart rate.

I will not actually be swimming in it but yeah like a magic band is waterproof I want the tracker to be as well but I also want it to have a display.

I looked into the flex but I don't think it has a display. I don't want to have to look at my phone to see steps etc

I love my Jawbone UP3, but it doesn't have a display (I was specifically trying to avoid one)

My coworker has a Garmin VivoFit with display and likes hers

I have not had a magic band so I'm not aware of how waterproof it is. Most Fitbits are splash proof. Like I don't take any of them off to wash my hands and I'm not super careful when doing dishes etc. The original Alta is shower proof but does not have HR. The Flex 2 is swim proof and will track sleep but lacks a display. I don't recommend my solution which is owning several models. :rolleyes1 Alta, Alta HRand the Charge HR 2 all have displays, all will tracks steps (and auto track workouts if you want them to) and sleep. The battery life is pretty great on the HR 2, Alta and Flex 2. I throw them on the charger while I shower but I don't sleep with them on. Anyway, if you have any questions about the Alta, Charge HR 2 (which is my favorite) or Flex 2 I can try to answer them for you.

What is the difference in HR vs not HR?
My sister has the charge 2. The charge HR is on sale right now and I like that the display just shows what you want and doesn't always have the time on there as well allowing it to be half the size screen as the charge 2.
I mostly want it to be waterproof enough to not be worried about it when washing my hands and doing dishes.

Ok so reading up on what HR actually means it stands for purepulse heart rate... but the charge also gives you a constant heart rate on the display as well... so is the HR just better at giving a more accurate heart rate or something?

Also if my pulse is extremely weak in my wrist will it be accurate at all anyways?
Like when a Dr tries to take my pulse on my wrist they have a very hard time feeling it and I've been told by Drs that its a bit odd lol.

HR means heart rate. So the Fitbits that track heart rate will have an HR in their name. I had the Charge HR and while I never personally had a problem with it, they are known to have defective bands. I have several friends who had to have theirs replaced. The Charge HR 2 you can swap out the bands and there are several "faces" you can use for the display. It's all around better IMO. All Fitbits are on sale right now for Father's Day so shop around before you choose.

And just to clarify when I do dishes I do not submerge the Fitbits but they get splashed frequently.

Only the Fitbits with HR in the name have heart rate. There's an original Charge that DOES NOT have heart rate. People say Charge 2 but it's official name is Charge HR 2. The Fitbits with displays you can set them to display what you prefer but you can scroll through them for all of your stats.

edit: Well apparently it's just Charge 2 so I guess I stand corrected. The chart should help you out.

Yeah I think I'm just getting confused due to the fact that there are soooo many versions.
So I guess my sister has the Charge HR 2 and I was looking into the Charge HR for its smaller display and because its quite a bit cheaper.

I edited. Yes, your sister has the Charge 2. The thing is even though the display is smaller on the Charge HR the part that sits on the top of your wrist really isn't. Give me a sec, I'll post a pic.

Blue is Charge 2, Purple is Charge HR. See the yellow lines? That's the base. It's actually bulkier than the Charge 2.

Thanks for this. The only thing I was thinking about the smaller display was less of an area to get splashed...
IDK I do actually like the look of the charge 2 better when given a side by side.

Ah, I thought you were thinking size. Hmm. I think underneath where it's charged would be more of a concern. In that respect they're about the same.

I have a Fitbit Charge HR and like it. I wear mine constantly, except for showering, swimming, and charging it. I've never had any issues washing my hands or washing dishes, and I like the battery life and the display. My only gripe is that I've had it for a year and a half and I've had to replace it once (while it was still under warranty so Fitbit replaced it for free) because the rubber of the band started bubbling and it separated from the screen, and now the replacement is starting to do the same thing.
