So up until last week were weren't going to go to Disney, then decided to shorten our beach trip to 4 days and extend Orlando by 3 nights and then started getting itchy feet about not going to Disney. So what the hell, we now have 14 day unlimited passes!!
So usually by now I have all my plans for what park what day so a bit behind, plus for first time I have to think about what FP to book. Just wondered what everyone has been booking. Have been playing around with it this morning as my tickets now linked so was looking to see what would be available in 30 days ( my first day at a park will be 12th August ( our sons 14th birthday). Probably go to Hollywood Studios. Was glad to see everything available except Anna and Elsa. We plan at least one morning and one evening in all the parks except AK which will just be an afternoon probably.
Also are you booking FP for days where you only might be in the parks, just in case.

Although we have our itinerary planned based on crowd calendar predictions, on our last days we have booked FP+ for 'popular rides' just in case. Except for Anna and Elsa, I'm confident we'll be able to rearrange the attractions and/or times closer to the actual date, but wanted to have FP+ booked anyway.

I spoke to a CM on the WDW telephone helpline and they said that people change their FP+ around so regularly, that its reasonably easy to get spaces late notice.

And congrats on your last minute trip!

That cm was giving the standard line. They are wrong. If you want to switch RnR from morning to afternoon on the day you might be lucky to get it for park closing time. It might work in low crowd seasons but don't count on it.

We just did FP+ for the rides with the longest wait times on Touring Plans and the WDW app in the 1st park we are going to visit each day, and of course if we wanted to actually ride them. The difficulty comes when some of our family want to ride a popular ride and some don't but i figured we would just do that in the early morning. It just gets too complicated otherwise :).

I worked out what parks we might be in on which day using Easywdw's crowd calendars, then picked a random selection of 'headliner' type attractions for as early as possible in that day's park. The only exception was the evening we arrive where I booked TT, MS and Maelstrom at Epcot.
Otherwise Soarin', SDMT, Splash, Space, BTMRR, TSMM, ToT, Kilimanjaro, EE etc... The youngest is 15 now so no meet & greets.
The idea with early was that hopefully the 4th option will become available, especially if we can rescedule even earlier on the day...
I'll probably get flayed alive for picking the wrong things though... :lmao:

I was given a link to this thread that suggests how to get best value (time saving wise) from your FP+ selections.

I will have a plan based on suspected busy days and the better value FP+.

However, if my plans change or I oversleep, I won't be freeing up my slots unless I go to a park as I don't have a smartphone.
