What famous person do you miss the most?

I'm probably the only one that misses Janis Joplin and Jimi Hendrix but I loved their music (still do) and they died about the same time that my mom died.
I also miss Marvin Gaye (still cry when I hear his music) and Stevie Ray Vaughan.

Harry Chapin.

We are hoping to see his brother Tom tomorrow night!!

Princess Diana. I too cried and cried when she died. I found her very courageous and the work she did for children's causes was amazing.

Also the Queen Mother. She was an amazing woman with amazing courage.

Walter Mathau and..... Oh no, I just got a mental block, the other gentleman from grumpy old men. UGGHHH, I keep trying to remember and I can't.

John Candy

A really local answer here, but I miss Richie (Whitey) Ashburn. Voice of the Phila Phillies and the broadcast still isn't the same without him.

For me it's got to be Lucille Ball hands down. She was such a fantastic comedienne and when I watch the old I Love Lucy Shows it seems to bring me back to my childhood days when life seemed so much easier!;)

I love going to Universal Studios and walking through the I Love Lucy Tribute museum.:)

Look at my signature and you shall see.

The two that impacted me the most were - Phil Hartman and Princess Diana. I was just stunned when each of them died so suddenly.

But the ones that I miss the most are Lucille Ball, Jack Lemmon, Bing Crosby, and my favorite - Fred Astaire (he just floated on air).

Mr. Rogers death really bummed me out. I don't think there have been any others that really ruined my day. I was pretty sad when Dave Thomas (Wendy's guy) died - I miss his commercials. :(

Aaliyah

Phil Hartman:I had to put away my tapes of Newsradio for weeks after that

River Phoenix:I had become a fan of his younger brother(Joaquin) and it shook me up

Without a doubt, Walt Disney. I wasn't that old when he died but I have studied him since grade school. I think his leadership and business skills and values could teach a lot of today's business and entertainment leaders some valuable lessons.

John Candy, Jim Belushi, Chris Farley, and especially Karen Carpenter. I was living in Los Angeles when Belushi and when Karen Carpenter died. Words cannot adequately express my feelings about the loss of these young, talented people. I still get teary eyed when I hear the Carpenters' music.

I miss Red Skelton, Sam Kinnison, and Phil Hartman too. It seems that when a comedian dies, a bit of the laughter dies right along with them.

Definitely John Candy. I love his old movies like The Great Outdoors and Summer Rental. He never failed to crack me up. I just think it's so sad that he died so young.

I think I'll always miss Princess Diana. I also miss Vincent Price and I still cry because Walt Disney died. I have the book, Remembering Walt, and I can't read the part about his illness and death without crying. :(

John Lennon, Marvin Gaye, Otis Redding.

Some others who mean alot to me are Pete "The Pistol" Maravich (former LSU basketball player and New Orleans Jazz NBA Player ..and other teams) and Don Redden (another former basketball player). Their deaths were so shocking to me and still are. They are truly missed even today. They were both such and inspriation to me when I was growing up. I have Pete's "Homework Basketball" video tapes. He was quite the magician on the court.

For me its John Denver, Jim Croce, and Jack Lemmon & Walter Matthau.:( Oh, and Karen Carpenter.

John Lennon, Princess Diana, and Jimmy Stewart - it just seemed so incredibly personal to me when I heard of their deaths.

A few years back in my office we had this same discussion. When it came my turn, I basically said forget about past deaths, I'm going to be most upset when Jimmy Stewart dies. He died less than 24 hours after that - everyone looked at me and said "how did you know?" I still can't explain that sad feeling I had.

I think you are referring to Jack Lemon, though, are you sure he's dead?

Princess Diana is who came to my mind first. She was such a good mother to her sons and did so much good.

But I would also love for Walt Disney to still be here to see and experience the growth of the wonderful organization he started. Sometimes I wonder how things would be different if he were still alive.
