What 'extra' things do you like to do while at DW?

HI. I was wondering what extra things you like to do while staying at WDW. Last time my dh did the DiveQuest at Epcot for $126 (with PADI discount) and loved it. I was wondering what other things there are to do and how much they cost. We love to try new things. Taking an AKL savannah is on my list but I don't know which one or how much!

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Tours are nice. There are several to choose from at the different parks.

The segway experience is neat as is the NASCAR driving or riding event.

We like renting the Sea Racers (mouseboats) at the Contemporary! We've done this twice now and I'm sure for as long as our DS is traveling with us (he's 16 now) we'll continue to do it as its his very favorite thing!

Spa treatment at GF is always nice! My dh usually takes ds to DQ while I do the Spa!

we usually take a day or two from the parks, and my dd and her friend (sometimes DH) like it when they can rent the mouse boats also. they have fun. then we usually eat at Downtown. we just like to relax. DH wants to try fishing....lol

I like to tour the other resorts and have dinner either before or after walking around the property. Best thing is touring the resorts is free and completely up to your enjoyment. Of course, I end up spending money in their restaurant, lounge and/or gift shop.

We did the tour at "The Land" once. It was very reasonably priced, I think under $10.

Last visit I had a facial at the GF Spa. I think it was around $100-$120, and it was SOOO worth it!

A couple of times we rented boats. Once at PO, and twice at WL. I want to say $18 per half hour (this is for the bigger boats, not the watermice).

I love touring the resorts too. If you go to WL, you can get a Hidden Mickey Clue list (I heard they have it at AKL too), and you can spend some time searching for hidden mickeys.

We usually spend one morning/afternoon or one evening resort hopping. It's great to be able to see all that WDW has to offer.

Putt Putt!!!

Every vacation we take we must play putt putt. It's something my parents and I used to always on our family vacations as a kid and I guess I feel like it isn't quite a vacation unless we putt putt.

We play miniature golf at Fantasia Gardens several times, rent the water mice and sometimes go bike riding. ::MickeyMo

We love spending some time outside the parks. It has become a tradition for us to spend one day doing things like shopping at Downtown Disney, visiting various resorts (especially in December when you can see their Christmas decorations), and renting surrey bikes at the BoardWalk. Having a restful, laid back day is one of our favorite parts of visiting Disney World. ::yes::

I vote for touring the resorts & mini golf too. I also like to have tea at the GF, it really relaxes me and gets me in a "let it all go" vacation mood.

Water mouse! Yeh! Way fun!.
How do you get the illuminations cruise?
If rates don't come out for Sept.... I am gonna major league need the spa treatment at GF

We enjoy taking a "spin" on Breathless - the same boat used for the Illuminations cruise. The boat is at the marina behind the Yacht Club. It costs about $60 (not including tip for your driver) for a 30 minute ride. It is alot of fun- but be prepared to get WET!! The boat is a turn-of-the-century Crisscraft. The ride is on the lagoon and canals between and around the Boardwalk, Swan, Dolphin, Yacht & Beach Clubs and MGM. Make reservations a day or so ahead of when you want to ride - wear your bathing suit and get ready for an E-ticket ride. We will be there in a couple of weeks and can't wait for our ride.

* We love the fireworks cruises.... actually now we are hooked on the Grand One
* I love going to the spa
* DH loves golfing
* I always get a gift basket for those who may be coming with us for that trip

This year I definitely want to do the Keys to the Kingdom Tour!!!

We like to spend some time at Fort Wilderness. Love the walking trail, the horse barn, petting zoo. One year we went canoeing and that was a blast! We also like the hayride and the campfire singalong. They also offer horsebackriding which we don't do because we have horses...kind of stupid to spend money on it when we can do it at home.

Fantasia Minature Golf is fun. I think it's $8 per person.

Shopping at Downtown Disney is quite fun. Oh - and Pleasure Island...we love the Adventurers Club.

I keep thinking of more as I write. We like the Boardwalk area - you can rent a bike and ride around Crescent Lake. Jellyrolls is fun nightime entertainment on the Boardwalk.

There is so much to do at Disney - you really could skip the parks.

Oh - by the way - we're going in 4 days. I'm doing the dance!!:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

My twin DS s and I like to rent Watermice... one is extremely nearsighted and is quite the speed demon - she usually has one close encounter with the ferry honking at her like crazy
