I've heard so many people say it was great but what is it? Is it only offered at certain parks? What kind of desserts? price? Is it better for kids or would parties with just adults like it too? Sorry for all the questions but I'm curious! They didn't have that at WDW when I worked there :rolleyes1

What is it?
A party, with desserts and great viewing for Wishes in a reserved area. You arrive prior to fireworks, get seated at your reserved table and enjoy some desserts. You can see the parade, but it is not close by. Then the fireworks start.

Is it only offered at certain parks?
Magic Kingdom. At the Tomorrowland Terrace.

What kind of desserts?
A variety of cute individual desserts and beverages, cookies, pastries, mousses, etc.

Price?
$27.99/adults 10+ and $13.99/kids 3-9 (The price goes up during peak seasons).

I think everyone would enjoy it. I know myself and my kids really had a great time.

This was one of everyone's favorite experiences from our last trip. Myself and the kids would love to do another dessert party. Not having to fight the crowds for the fireworks was worth the price alone, the desserts were the icing on the cake.

I loved it! However, I love dessert and there were some of all kinds. I loved the chocolate-covered strawberries. There were also drinks including milk when I went. It is perfect for the fireworks. The only downside I could see would be that you can't really see the parade and you really need be at the party by the time the parade starts. However, it didn't really matter to us as we saw it a different night and there were several nights were the parade ran twice when I went last year. I would just do a quick Google picture search and you'll see a wide variety of stuff if offered.

It was awesome! If you like desserts that is. My only advice would be to not worry to much about being the first there. They already have tables reserved for your party. We didnt know that and got there an hour early to try to get a good seat. They have the section closed off until it starts and none of the CMs told us. So we were pretty much wasting time waiting when we could have done something else. Still a great time!

The only bummer for me is that we've got "Wishes" viewing planned for one night in December, the same night as the parade. Parade starts an hour before wishes and so does the dessert.

How good of a view are you getting of the parade route in terms of viewing distance? Is the view of the castle and fireworks totally unobstructed?

You won't have a good view for MSEP. At best, you'll see the tops of the floats and it's quite a distance away. Robo has some good maps on here - search "Dessert Party" and they should come up. You'll be able to hear the music, but that's really about all of the experience you'll get. Tomorrowland Terrace is a little to the left (stage left or to your right as you walk down Main Street), so you're not going to be head on. You can see the castle and fireworks just fine - almost unobstructed, there a few trees around, but they won't hinder your experience. The cool part is that Tinkerbell will fly right over you and land on the roof of the restaurant, so make sure you have your camera ready for that!

When are you going in Decmber? If it's closer to Christmas, there may be a chance of a second MSEP getting added to the schedule. If there is, you can do both without a problem. If there's only one MSEP scheduled, you really don't have a whole lot of time to go from the Hub to Tomorrowland Terrace. The only thing you can keep in mind is that there are reserved seats for the Dessert Party, it's not first come first serve. However, once Wishes starts, they will stop serving desserts and by the time Wishes is over, they will have finished cleaning up or at the very least started to dismantle the buffet.

In my opinion (take this as you wish), I would skip trying to see MSEP from the Hub, sit back and enjoy what you can from the Dessert Party. Not having to fight your way to find a spot for Wishes was a big plus for us. Also, the desserts were plentiful and assorted - we really enjoyed them! I would suggest booking (reservations open up about 45 days in advance) and if you would rather see MSEP and they don't add a second showing, you can cancel with 48 hours advance notice and get a full refund. You are able to book online or via Dining Reservations, but know that you have to pre-pay for this event.

Whatever you decide, hope you have a magical time! :wizard:

Thanks for the info princess, it's very helpful!

You're very welcome!

I misspoke about the ADR opening for the Dessert Party, it's 60 days, not 45. However, it may not open right at 60, I think I booked mine around 45.

Sorry about that!
