What exactly is Mickey's Toontown Madness?

Never been in Toontown before, in fact, I have only been to DL once in the past several years and that was last Sept. I have a 4 yr old but we never made it to Toontown. Apparently, we have some early entry specifically to this area as part of our package? What is it, what goes on, and what does one do? I read that it is interactive? Does that mean there are Disney characters wandering around? Sorry I'm sure I just passed my daily quota of questions just in this one post.

Toontown normally opens up to the general public one hour after park opening. With Toontown morning madness, only those with the voucher are allowed entry when the park first open up, rather than an hour after. It's actually pretty fun. Tons of character are out for autograhs and pictures. We saw Donald, Micky, Minnie, Goofy, Daisy, and a few others. The lines are minimal for photo ops and the rides since there isn't the usual numbers in that land. We got to ride many of the rides several times over practically walking on without really much of a line. Around 30 minutes into the hour, the character parade into the city hall area where a family is pronounced honorary toontown mayors/citizen? and everyone present gets an honorary toontown button comemorating their visit. It was actually one of the highlights of our last trip. You'll have a great time. Have fun.
