That they sell at Port Orleans French Quarter?

It is a popular New Orleans dough treat. It is fried dough and sprinkled with powdered sugar most of the time. They are yummy!

I would compare it to a sopapilla (if you've had one), or a small, square indian fry bread that is sprinkled with a healthy dose of powdered sugar.

The only real place to have beinget is in Jackson Square at Cafe duMond listening to the river and waiting for the day to greet you. Smell the chickory coffee brewing. Hear the French Quarter stirring. Next to early monring on Main Street its the greatest place on earth!.

Beignets are some of the yummiest things I've eaten at WDW. As ahutton said, they are very much like sopapillas, only denser and breadier. Delicious for breakfast if you like sweet things and aren't really into eggs, etc. I only wish they'd start selling them again at POR :(.

::yes::

Ahhh... smell the coffee!!

Some advice, though: Don't wear black when you go to Cafe du Monde for beignets... trust me.

When I tried the beaver tail for the first time almost made me think of those, nothing but a fried dough with powdered sugar on them :D

What a wonderful memory. Beignets, cafe ole, my little one drinking chocolate milk at Cafe duMond. The music, always the music. It is magical.

Everytime I see someone mention beignets on these boards, I crave one. We had them (several times) at POFQ last trip. They are gooooooooooooooooooooooood.
