What exactly does breakfast from 8-11:30 mean?

Hi all,
I know that sounds like a crazy question but I'm trying to plan out our character meals and need timing help. We are mostly looking at buffets and if it says breakfast buffet 8-11:30 does that mean you have to book your reservation at 8? Or does that mean you can get the reservation for any time as long as you are out by 11:30? Or lastly does it mean you can make a reservation for as late as 11:30? My DD's aren't really huge breakfast eaters so I am hoping to do breakfast TS as late as possible and make it more like our lunch, then snack, then CS dinner. Just trying to figure out what as late as possible is when it comes to these buffets.
TIA

It means breakfast foods will be on the buffet from 8 - 11:30 a.m. At 11:30, they start removing the breakfast foods and putting out lunch foods. You can make your reservation for anytime you want. If you get there closer to 11:30, you may not be able to get as many breakfast foods as you would if you arrived earlier.

Thanks that makes sense.

I guess I have one more question. If it is a character breakfast buffet are the characters usually there the entire time or do they just make the rounds at a given time and then leave?

The characters will be there the entire time. They do make the rounds to the tables and then some will disappear for a minute or two for a break.

If your girls don't do breakfast, how about character lunches? They start at 11:30. You'll have much more variety on the menu and it's usually not crowded at 11:30. I've discovered the lunch crowds hit around 12:30.

We do an 11:30 lunch on the extra morning hours of the parks. We eat something light like a muffin in the early am then hit the park do all the must see rides then go have our early lunch then head back to the resort for pool/nap time after lunch. Only to refuel for dinner and evening park hours!:lmao:

If I have an ADR for 10:50 at Ohana and breakfst ends at 11:00 will the characters also leave at 11:00 or do they stay around until everyone is finished with their meals?

At a location that has breakfast but not lunch, the Characters will be there for about one hour after the last seating. In addition, they will normally not break the buffet until the last Guest has left the restaurant.

Thats so good to know, thanks. We are going to MK for AM EMH and I didn't want to have to get an earlier ADR. My youngest ds really loves Stitch and I wanted to make sure he had plenty of time with his favorite character.
