I don't know whether or not I should bring my TV and things like that. I know I have to bring bedding. Here is a list of things I'm thinking of bringing:

TV (it's a high-def LCD, doesn't take up much room...but do I need it?)
Computer and printer (should I bring desktop or laptop?)
Hangers
Two pillows
Bedding
Phone
Things to personalize the room
My car

I heard that only basic cable was included. Would I have the option to upgrade to premium? Same goes for the phone, I'd need long-distance...although I can always use my cell phone actually.

What do you think of my list of stuff? What did you bring and what do you NEED?

I brought a tv for the apartment and i was glad i did because my roommate didnt and it was so nice to be able to relax and watch a movie after work. I also took a dvd player with me too because you can rent movies for free from the learning center. I dont think you need to bring a phone for the apartment because if i rmember they had one there. I also took a pillow top for the mattress because the mattresses were really hard. I also think i had to bring the cable cord so i could hook the tv up and i dont think there is an option to upgrade ur cable. I took my car and i LOVED having it. Also we brought a wireless router so that we didnt have to sit at the desk to use our computer and you dont really need a printer because the computer lab has one and you can print for free there. Hope this helps!

TV- up to you. Some people absolutely need their tv, others hardly use it. I didn't really watch too much tv this summer.
Computer-again, up to you. It may be easier to bring a laptop though.
Hangers- you will need these. But I would wait til you arrive, and get them at Walmart.
Pillows- need
Bedding- need
Phone- up to you.
decoration- I would bring some. The rooms can look boring without decoration.
Car- I would say to bring it. It makes everything so much easier. And you don't even have to use it everyday (you can use the buses to work, if you want). But I would definitely bring it.

Thanks for the advice :thumbsup2 I'll probably end up bringing the laptop rather than my desktop. Takes up much less space and it's portable.

Anything else I should bring down with me?

I went out and bought the tiniest tv you could buy.. a 13 inch maybe? I wanted it for my own personal use and knew a small one wouldn't work in the main room. I see you picked laptop which is a good choice, but I would not bring a printer unless you're taking classes either down in Disney or through your school.
Laundry basket - Also doubles as your hamper
Earplugs
DVDs
Extra cooking pot (in case your roommates don't clean up after themselves after cooking)
Bathing suit and beach towel
Any OTC medication you use

A lot of stuff can be brought while you're down there, like hangers (very cheap at Walmart). I bought a TV stand for my room from Walmart too, I had the intentions of throwing it out when I was moved home but my mom thought it was a really good TV stand, lol. Also see what your roommates bring then go out and buy what you guys need.

I think I'm gonna bring my Xbox 360 while I'm down there, I like to play video games during my time off plus it doubles as a DVD player.

Ah, a tv stand. I'll have to put that on my list of things to buy when I'm down there along with hangers. Good idea about the Xbox 360 too. I'm a little sad that I sold mine but I used the money to bbuy a textbook so I had no choice.

Oh and by the way, I'm a little confused about something. I'm hoping to score a 2-bedroom in Chatham Square and I heard somewhere that 2-bedrooms house 3 people. This means that someone gets their own room, right? :confused3

Here is a list that I had been compiling. Maybe it'll help.

Television
Wireless Router
DVD Player
Xbox 360
DVD's
Video Games
Mp3 Player
Laptop or Desktop
Flash Drive
Extension Cords
Microphone & Headphones
Tool Set
Alarm Clock
Stereo
Desk Fan
Camera
Cell Phone & Charger
TV Tray Tables
Computer Network Cables
Clothes
Shoes
Toiletries
Towels
Bedding, Pillows
Laundry Basket
Storage Containers
Pens, Pencils, Notebooks
Decorations, Posters, Etc.

Probably more to come. I have just been adding to it as I think of them.

Nope. They have 4 people.

:goodvibes On bringing a wireless router...if your laptop has a ethernet card or wi-fi capabilities, you don't need a wireless router for it right????

Also, are there bedstand tables or do I need to find one and....

what exactly are the rules about hanging things? Nails or no nails, sticky stuff or no sticky stuff, ceiling hanging ( I really want one of those round sheer bed canopie things that hang above your bed) and also what about twinkle or christmas string lights around the window?

So many questions have come popping into my mind about this now that I seriously need to start shopping and packing! I got an adoreable cinderella/aurora soap and toothbrush stand today!!! I hope my roomate likes disney princess stuff!!!! :goodvibes

I'm dumb when it comes to computers, so I don't know. I think you do need a router though for your apartment's own internet. It's not like Disney has the wi-fi up already for you and you just log right in.

You get a nightstand next to your bed with drawers.

You cannot hang anything from your ceiling, I think something about setting off alarms. So no lights, canopy, etc. I think you can use sticky tack on the walls, just no nails or tacks (though my roommate did it and we passed inspections).

you may wanna hold off on getting a router.. if you end up in a 3 bedroom and 4 of the 6 people bought routers, that's a waste. Plus (maybe it isnt the nicest thing to do) but you can usually "borrow" wireless from surroundign apartments for the first few days and then buy a router once you get there... that's what we did. HAVE FUN it's awesome! :)

don't buy hangers! Once you start getting your costumes, they all come on like a hundred hangers... you'll never wanna see another hanger by the time you are done there! You can return them to costuming and all, but you'll still have way more than you'll ever want. my costume had like 4 peices, and each came on a seperate hanger... and i'd have 5 costumes out at a time, soooo thats 20 hangers every time i stop by costuming!!!!
