What exactly are Crocs?

I will be filing a complaint about the rudeness of CM's on this board in the near future. Don't think that this is acceptable. :)

I thought Crocs (Beach style) was ugly as sin, but bought a pair and then immediately got more the following weekend. I currently wear nothing but Crocs including to work. The black Aspen model (without holes) looks like a dress shoe or clog and I feel wonderful at work with them on. I am a teacher and standing on your feet all day is the pits, but not with my Crocs on!

I'm tempted to try a pair next time I'm headed off to Disney as my feet blister terribly. Might pick up a pair of flip flops for the summer just to see if they feel as good as reported :)

As far as Dizprincessxxx's comments go - don't take it personally or feel like the CMs are making fun of anyone in their crocs. Ignore her - if you feel awkward about CMs watching your feet you need to read up on someof her other posts.

Which stores carry Crocs? I would like to see what they look like, and be able to try them on before buying a pair.

Few questions,

Do they feel nasty if they get wet (like if it was to downpour or you went on a ride like Kali river rapids?) and would you want to take them off for the rest of the day? If not, do they dry quickly or absorb the water so your feet aren't sloshing around in them?

If you don't wear them w/ socks do they rub against your skin? Also do you have to break them in for a while before they get comfy? Do they get hot and make your feet hot and sweaty in the hot florida sun?

How are the flipflops? They are actually decent looking but how is the thing between your toes? I'm really selective about flipflops because some of those things will rip the skin right off my toes. Others I can wear comfortably all day long.

thanks!
tricia.

these shoes are soooooooo ugly!! That being said i would get the flip flop ones. They look fine, i am even tempted to get the ones with the open toe. Has anyone goten either of these? How do they feel compared to the original (which i just cannot get myself to purchase) I think i will get the flip flops for my DH also but i would like to know how they are before i make the purchase.

Thanks

I, too, refuse to buy the regular ones. As a woman with size eleven feet, I require that my shoes at least look cute--'cuz my feet sure don't! I bought a pair of the flip-flops, though, and am in absolute love. They're the comfiest pair of shoes I own, and I really wish I could get away with wearing them to work!

The most interesting thing is that while in regular crepe-style flip flops, I feel like I'm going to take a spill anytime I'm on wet ground, in these I feel fine. They dry just fine, and don't feel slimy or rub.

I am REALLY picky about my flip flops too...I hate if that too part is uncomfortable...but these are great!

I don't have the ones, just the flip flops, but I'm wondering if anyone has worn these into the parks yet? I hve the black ones, but if the results are good on wearing them into the park, then I want the white ones too!

And what's this talk about the airwalk ones? Supposedly they are cushier? Where can I get these too?

Go to the Crocs website (www.crocs.com) and you can find a list of retailers in your area.

Let me start by saying that I must be one of the only people out there who doesn't think that these are the ugliest shoes on the planet! They're almost cute in a way.

One of my friends has a $4 imitation pair that she wore to my house one day. After reading all the good things on here about them I just had to try them on. And indeed I loved them! They felt great on my feet and they weren't even the right size! I'm definately going to have to get myself a pair of the real things.

Now if I could only decide on a color

Chicago Tribune did an article on Ugly being Popular (citing several stars wearing them - like Mario Iron Chef wearing the Orange ones, One TV Show, was it Grays Academy or Scrubs? I think maybe Scrubs that wear them)

That being said, I tried the knockoff version in Target - they are definately plastic and NOT the special resin, the resin Crocs uses prevent bacteria, and thus NO smell, my feet feel totally at ease in them with or without socks (socks are just weird tho!!)

I didnt need a breaking in period as the special resin molds to your feet - think of the cashiers that stand on a pad to cushion their back, its like that!! I did need a couple of days where I build up time to them, as my feet have orthotic issues - but I do live in my crocs, and even tho I still have "issues" I can walk without a cane!!

Ugly is in - one of the teachers said I started an "ugly trend" at school, as now so many kids are wearing them!! :rotfl:

Also, invest $5 in the croc butter to maintain the nice shine on the crocs!! (I've only seen it online at crocs.com!)

I absolutely LOVE my 2 pairs of ugly Crocs! I've found that I can walk all around Disney and not have any foot/leg pain. I used to wear New Balance or Nike Walk shoes, but each and every time we'd go on vacation, I'd end up with bad blisters, foot pain or achy legs! I thought I'd just have to get used to it until I heard everyone talking about Crocs on the DISboards.

I bought a pair a month or so before our trip last November & much to my surprise (& the happiness of my feet), I felt no aches or pains, nor did I get any of those awful blisters. Needless to say, when I got back I picked up another pair.

I wanted to check out the new flip-flops that came out & ran across the website www.shoemall.com that is currently offering FREE SHIPPING on Crocs (& others). Even though the prices are the same for the shoes as what's on the Crocs website & in retail stores, you save $$ on the shipping (plus there wasn't any tax!). :cool1:

Just wanted to pass this along...

Kim :tink:

Well, I'm back from 3 days in WDW and I wore my Crocs and LOVED them! They were more comfortable than my old, broken-in New Balance sneakers. My feet didn't hurt at all.

Alot of people commented on them, and I got a lot of rolling-eyes :rolleyes2 , but I didn't care - my feet didn't hurt and I was HAPPY :yay:

I have size 11 extra wide feet  so I feel your pain.
But I love my Crocs beach style. I actually think they are cute (i have lime green, baby blue, and just ordered fuschia)haha! It's so hard to fit cute shoes (that won't break the bank) in my size so I'll go with original and funky.
