What events for Christmas week?

I know I'm crazy for planning a trip for that week, but I really don't want my kids to miss school.
This will be our 2nd trip with the kids, so I could still use lots of advice.

When I first started planning it, I thought we would be buying tickets for the "very merry mickey party" but this week I realized that it will be over before we arrive.

Our dates are Dec 20-Dec 27th.

Are there any special events the week of Christmas? Is there any "must-do" things to do on Christmas eve or Christmas day. I need your tips.

My DD's are ages 4 & 6

Just an FYI... I heard that it is so unbelievably crowded during that time that you may not even be able to get into the parks! Once they reach full capacity, no-one gets in. Just wanted you to know b/c that is a peice of info. that doesn't get shared too often and people are very disappointed.

Am I missing something here? We went in December of 07 and the crowds were not an issue at all...it was very pleasant...We will be back this year...Dec 8 - 17...should I be ready for some bad crowds? Was it bad in Dec of 08?
