What English stuff do Americans like?

You can get Hula Hoops here. Where did you order from?

The place I've ordered from most recently is "The British Corner Shop" www.britishcornershop.co.uk Their service is excellent... shipments usually arrive in about a week to ten days... and they have an excellent selection of magazines. :teeth:

I had heard that you could get Hula Hoops in Canada. We've only been as far as Niagara Falls, though, and didn't find any there.... yes, we did look! :p Funny that with so many Brits visiting Orlando, I would have expected to see Hula Hoops and English magazines there. But sadly, I 've never found either of them. :sad2:

The Internet is a wonderful thing, though. At least now, if we get a craving, we can order online!

Yeah, there are hula hoops at every Wal mart for about $0.75 a hula hoop...

I believe you mean the Fritos product "Hoops" which we can buy around here also. While they look similar the taste is completely different from English KP Hula Hoops.

I am wondering if it is worth setting up some swap partners between US and UK board readers. I know I love reeses peanut butter cups and the kids like cool aid and it would be easy to do some swaps, is it worth thinking about?

This is sooo bizare....i thought you were talking about Hula Hoops as in the round hard plastic toy that you use around your waist....not a food....LOL

How funny is that. Well I never saw the edible Hula Hoops here we have what we call Ringlos I think by Hostess/FritoLay or maybe Humpty Dumpty. I could send you some if you want....not sure if it will taste the same as the Hula Hoops

I found this on the ketchup flavor but you can get plain and BBQ

I think that is a great idea! Where are you from? I live in North Carolina....

By the way, I have been wanting to ask you, do you read Robert Jordan's books. Amyrlin is a very unusual name and I've only seen it in his books..

I am going to his book signing on Nov 4 in Charlotte, NC :wave2:

No, these are definitely not that kind of hoop! The taste of the Frito Lay product isn't anything like true English KP Hula Hoops, unfortunately. :guilty:

You can see the "real" deal at this website and learn everything you ever wanted to know and then some! ;) http://www.hulahoops.com/

We are going for Christmas this year and we have started buying calendars and Terrys Chocolate Oranges.

We have bought some Welsh Tea Bags as well for a CM on the DCL Wonder who was from Wales and she can have these as an early Christmas pressie.

The thread may have been restricted in replies possibly as the OP asked about "English" rather than "British".

Yes, I love Robert Jordan, but the nick was given to me and it sort of stuck, so I keep it now. If you would like some British supplies sent over then feel free to PM me, I would be very happy to send some over. I already send a few people supplies of tea bags and chocolate.

Same goes for any other US readers (as long as I am not overwhelmed).

Amyrlin I really don't have any English things so far to request but I want to try some of their chocolate that I keep reading about on these boards. Do they have English chocolate at Epcot? I have always wanted to try it and if they do what do you recommend?

I don't know if they have it at Epcot, but Cadbury's Dairy Milk (also available as whole nut or fruit and nut, plus other weird stuff) or Galaxy are the bi block chocolate brands. We also have lots of chocolate-covered snack things - I like Time Out and Twix, my DH loves Toffee Crisp and the boys like Milky Way and Penguins.

Hungy now :rotfl:

They do have a variety of chocolate in the UK pavillion however you can also buy it in some Target stores and World Market stores carry quite a bit of it too at cheaper prices.

However if you buy regular cadbury dairy milk chocolate check the label to see where it is made cadbury is also made in the US under license by Hershey and it is NOT the same at all. Also places like CVS and Walmart they carry After Eight Mints which are made in the UK... they are yummy too.

Yuk Yuk Yuk, when we went last it was my other half's first time in the US, so I thought I had to intrduce him to the Hershey's bar, .... I am not sure if he has forgiven me yet.

Say8ing that I do like Reeses Pieces

Hmmm I find that US chocolate is different than Canadian chocolate (don't like US chocolate bars). Now I'll have to try chocolate from the UK, does anyone know if there is much of a difference?
