What DON'T you like about FP+?

I like planning too and we do usually have a gameplan based on EMH and ADRs, but what I like about FP- and I dont see happening with FP+ is flexibility if things need to change. We have had illness and weather change plans to a different park or none at all, and we never worried about missing our favorite rides bc we would ride them with a short wait once we got there. I just feel that when everyone is on the system there will be much less chance to change your FP+ if something comes up. Like it is POURING rain on AK day, well will I be able to switch that to another day or am I out of luck riding it. So I am planner who like flexibility and I thought WDW was the perfect place for that...not sure if the future will be like that...that is my concern!

I don't mind so much if they make it pay so long as they do it in time for me to pad my vacation funds for it, and do it like they do free dining. Per level of resort with an option to upgrade. I'll pay good money for Fp if I have to, but I still don't want to pay more for a room I'll spend less then 8 hours in every day.

I don't like that the higher level resorts don't get more FP+. Disney needs to monetize the FP+ system.

I don't like that we can't directly buy more FP+.

I don't like that off site guests may have access to FP+. It should be no pay, no play!

I didn't think they were going to give more FPs based on resort level, but because they have put tiers in, I think that they are.

I think that everyone will still get a base number, probably 3 (but tiered which means not really 3), and then the higher the level of the resort, the higher the number you get from there.

Good to hear but this does not allievate my concerns...1) it was a low crowd time and 2) every guest onsite and offsite are not on the system yet. When they all are I dont think changing it on the fly will be as easy to do.

We have been to Disney yearly for the past 6 years. We have been in July, Columbus Day week--- we have seen crowds. So far this week the actual crowds are not worse than what we have experienced in the past--- no lines for parking, eating, restrooms etc. We stay offsite so no access to FP+ but in the 4 days we have been here I can tell it has fundamentally changed the way the parks work and not in a good way. Today we went to Epcot-- the recommended park on several touring plan sites. We arrived at 8:30 and they opened a few min before 9. We chose Test Track first. I pulled a FP- at 9:07 am and the return time was already for 10:50-11:50. I waited in no line to get this FP and I don't think very many had been there before me. We then rode it standby(it's great! My kiddos loved it). Our plan was to ride and FP TT and then with a hopefully early FP return time, FP Soarin soon after. Soarin FP's were gone by 10am--- before I was eligible to pull one. The standby waits for Soarin and TT were at 90-110 min+ all day. TT single rider line was at 50 min when we returned to use our FP---and we waited 30 min in the FP line---10 of that outside just trying to get to the point where we could show our FPs. There were 30 min lines for Nemo and the boat ride in Mexico today--- mainly bc people want to ride things and they can't ride the headliners so... We were there at rope drop and managed to ride TT twice, Mission space, did the character spot( no one there) and Imagination. We then spent the rest of our day in WS enjoying the entertainment there. But this will be the first trip that we were unable to ride Soarin in 1 1/2 days at Epcot ( we were there Sat afternoon too and despite really low crowds there were still no FPs and 2hr waits). We have always before managed multiple rides. This trip has been full of long standby lines and no access to FPs. I don't think it is simply related to crowds. Disney has changed. For those who love it I am really happy for you, but we feel that we have been phased out. We spend a lot of money to come once a year and it is no longer worth it to stand in hour long lines and ride maybe 4 rides a day. Count me as not a fan of FP+.

That is brutal. I wonder if other off site guests understand that the FPs have been given away in advance to FP+? Or are they mystified?

I feel for you. We'll probably be experiencing something similar in December and I've already written off Soarin' and TSMM. I don't like to do this but it looks like more hassle than either are worth. DS is a big fan of Test Track so I appreciate your comments about that one.

That is really rough. We went to Epcot today as well but we have FP+. We arrived at 12:30 and had Soarin, living with the land and mission space FP+. We were done with those plus sum of all thrills by 3:05. Living with the land didn't need FP+ but it was our forced 3rd pick. We also rode Test Track after the DVC mixer.

I hope you let disney know the effect on your trip that no access to FP+ is doing.

well that doesnt sound like fun....enjoy Seaworld. Sorry this trip wasnt the same...it is a shame WDW doesnt see all this
