What does your Tooth Fairy do?

$2.00 and a pack of Trident gum

I could seriously hug you all!! I was terrified that WDW tickets or something of that size was the norm for a tooth fairy gift! We'd have one disappointed kidlet.

I'm SO glad that $5 and less is the norm :) ::phew::

When I was little I had to put the tooth in a glass of water by my bed so the tooth fairy could have a drink. I guess my mom didn't like the under the pillow thing too much. I love all the ideas as dd is 4 1/2 and we will be going thru this soon.

DS5 lost his first tooth Sunday...NO, Really...he LOST it! It came out, he didn't tell me, apparently "played" with it, and when he told me we couldn't find it anywhere! No tooth, no tooth fairy. We had even discussed what to do when it came out...UGH.

My DS6 almost did the same thing last week. It was his first loose tooth, and I told him to bring it to me or DH if it fell out. I looked at him later, and it was gone. I asked where he put his tooth and he said "In the trashcan".:confused3 Luckily I found it on the top.

My son has autism, and doesn't get the money thing right now. Tooth Fairy brought him a small Playmobil set. More than I would normally spend, but something that he wanted.

WDW tickets from the tooth fairy is a complete parental malfunction! WTH were these people thinking! Oh that's right.... they aren't!!!

Cute story:

My best friends ex lives in Iowa. My BF's son lost a tooth when he was visiting his Dad in Iowa. The son calls the next day and says:

Hey Mom! The Iowa tooth fairy pays more than the Nebraska one!!!:rotfl2:

Damn ex's.....;)

DS 7 was only 3 years old when he trip and fell in the kitchen and knocked his front and side tooth so badly that they had to be pulled.

He was so young in addition he's in the autistic spectrum so he didn't really understand the idea of the tooth fairy. Because the incident was so traumatic she (the Tooth Fairy) wanted to do something special so she brought him two brand new bruegger trucks, a flat bed and firetruck.

Since then he's lost a total of 9 teeth-- other have needed to be pulled. He actually takes care of his teeth amazingly- he's cursed with bad teeth. Every night after brushing, he flossed, fluoride rinse, then brushes again with a fluoride toothpaste that can not be swallowed.

The tooth fairy has continued the small gift tradition. She brought a goldfish one time, pokemon cards, new movie, plastic dinosaurs. She seems to always know what my DS is interested in at that time.... I wonder ......

Well, I have a funny story that will make you all probably laugh and ease the mind of the OP.

A fellow teacher and friend at work typically would put $1 under the pillow of her children. Well, her daughter lost her second (or at least not her first) while at Grammie's house. You would never believe it....the toothfairy didn't only give her $1, she gave her 4.......coins, a penny, nickel, dime, and a quarter! According to mom, you would have thought she won the lottery...."mommy, grammies toothfairy pays more than our toothfairy"

Speaking of lost teeth...last year one of my first graders fell off the bottom of the slide and her tooth fell out on the playground...what I didn't know was that when she came up to me with a bloody mouth it was because she lost her tooth (it was loose anyway so no worries). I found out over an hour later that her tooth fell out and she didn't have it. Worst part...it was her first tooth! So, I did what anyone would do, I went out to the playground during my prep time thinking that there was no way I'd find her tooth because since our recess, three hundred other children had been running around that playground. I couldn't believe my eyes when there, under the slide completely untouched...was the tiniest of teeth! It's amazing how sometimes you can find them and others you cannot!

LOL. We had a similar situation. My son lost his tooth in his sleep. In the morning we couldn't find it. We tore the bed apart looking for it. We decided the tooth fairy could be "fooled" with a mini marshmallow. Sure enough she took it and left a gold dollar. Two years later, we moved to a new home. As the guys picked up the bed, my son said, "My tooth!!" it had been in the back corner under the bed. Of course, then he wanted to put it under his pillow that night. :rotfl2:

Our tooth fairy leaves a $1 gold coin and a trail of "fairy Dust" aka gold glitter. Also, I wet two fingers and dip it in the glitter and place them on the sleeping toothless child's forehead. It leaves a tooth fairy kiss and the kids go nuts over it! My twins have lost a total of four teeth, but have a combined total of 11 loose teeth now! I need to stock up on gold coins!!!

Our tooth fairy lives in Pixie Hollow and is a friend of Tinks! She writes notes to the girls, and they write back. Too fun!
