This being my first race and all I am new to all this stuff; and to top it off, I have LOST my MfM book. So, I'm doing the half, and I know I'm not supposed to stop everything completely. Should I be doing some nice easy walks? Can I still get one last long walk in (if I do it today)? I was sick a few weeks ago and the kids have been home and dh been out of town making it impossible for me to get out. He gets back today though, so I could get out. My longest outing was a 10 miler. I felt I could have done 3 more miles -- if I had an unlimited amount of time to do it. All I have been able to do are some Walk Away the Pounds tapes. I've been doing the 3 mile and then the 2 mile back to back. I don't know how accurate those are as far as pacing, and of course, walking in place is a lot different than walking outside or even on a treadmill.

Thanks everyone for your help.

Hi Eva,

I have a copy of MfM, so I looked up the "Walking Half-Marathon" training plan. This is in reverse order from race day to today:

Sat. Jan. 12: Half Marathon (of course!)
Fri 1/11: 20 minutes at conversational pace
Th 1/10: rest
Wed 1/9: 30 minutes, moderate, form drills
Tues 1/8: rest
Mon 1/7: cross train 30 min.
Sin 1/6: 30 min. moderate
Sat 1/5: rest

Good Luck!
