What does unlinked Magicband mean?

Hi! Kinda newish to my Disney obsession & I love collecting stuff. I recently saw there was a very pretty Beauty & the Beast Magicband. I found one on Ebay at a price I was happy with & purchased it, but havnt done anything with it yet (our trip is not til November). Now I see the adorable Fathers Day/Darth Vader one on Ebay too. The description says it’s unlinked… what does that mean? When I bought the Belle one, it didn’t say anything about linked or unlinked. It just looks like a new Magicband to me.

Unlinked means no one ever linked it to a profile in a MDE account, which means you can link it to yours and use it. If the band had been previously linked, you wouldn't be able to use it - it would just really serve as a collectors' item.

Or you could transfer a puck from a magic band linked to your account.
