What does the KTTW look like?

I know this is a silly question but I was wondering if anyone had any pics to share or could describe it to me.

I thought about using a hole punch to punch it to attach to a lanyard but didn't know if that would be a good idea or not. This will be our first trip & I didn't know if it just had to be swiped at card locations or actually inserted into a machine somewhere.

Any info. or ideas about what you do with yours would be appreciated.

Thanks! :thumbsup2

Sorry no pics. The card is the size of a credit card and is the same thickness. If your park tickets are on the card you will need to insert the card at the turnstyles to get in. As well you will need it to use FP. The card goes through the machines so putting it on a lanyard will be a pain. If your tickets are the paper type then you will have little use for the KTTW card. It will only be for EMH, room charging privledges and your room key. You do have to carry it with you because technically it is you resort ID and you can be asked to show it at the pool or on a bus. Although, that is very, very rarely done.

You can buy plastic pouches that attach to a lanyard that will fit the card.

Don't punch a hole in it.

Instead, get a lanyard with a plastic pouch; they're sold at almost every WDW gift shop and pin station. The pouch keeps the card clean, safe, and protected, but easily reachable and convenient.

Thanks for the info. We will have the plastic card b/c we booked resort and tickets together. So would I be able to fit the KTTW card, id, photopass card, fastpasses & a little cash into one of those plastic pouches easily or would I need to look for something bigger. Also, are they durable enough that kids (8 & 6) could carry theirs around their necks or should I also plan to carry theirs as well?

Also, are they a pain to take things out of or fairly easy to manipulate?

Thanks again!!

Absolutely -- that's what I do: KTTW, driver's license, park tickets (we have paper tickets) FP's, photopass, $20 cash -- all of it in the pouch.

My DD has a pouch, but it's either attached to my lanyard, or to her jacket/vest (we visit in Feb.) But, I'm pretty sure you can have your KTTW hole-punched at the front desk of your resort, so you can give them just the lanyard -- if you're doing EMH it is a lot easier for them to carry their own, and you don't have to take yours out of the pouch to do rides (they just need to see the front of it) The cards themselves are a little thicker than a CC -- very durable -- but remember they are easily replaced if anything goes wrong.

I plan to carry the kttw cards for myself, my DD3 and my DS8. My DS12 and DH and DMIL can all carry their own. (although, now thinking about it I might be better off carrying my DMIL's, she loses her keys/cell CONSTANTLY! LOL)

Just be cautious with it if you have a charge card linked to it. If you lose it, notify guest services immediately so no one else can charge to your room.

I have a cheapy lanyard with a zip close pouch (walmart... maybe a buck?) that I bought for DS12 for his school ID. He never used it so I took it back for our trip. The pouch on that is a little on the small side so I might not be able to fit cash folded up plus the kttwc, id, etc in it. Some of the larger ones it would all fit fine.

Thanks for all the great suggestions! :goodvibes

I am planning on buying a Vera Bradley hipster to carry some essentials in (if DH didn't take the strong hint the other day to buy me one himself:rotfl:), but I also saw that they now carry lanyards & also have some small id wallets. I'm just wandering if the lanyard will be wide enough to also attach a few pins to.

I think I will buy my kids the lanyards that have the pouch attached & see how they do with them the first day. I can always put their KTTW cards in with mine or DH's if I feel they aren't going to be able to keep up with them. I know they can be replaced but I really don't want to waste the time it would take to do that, plus the time we would probably spend looking for it first, plus the frustration everyone will be feeling by this point.

I am really hoping all this planning ahead and organizing will result in a much more magical trip with less time spent fussing at the kids.

Thanks again!! :thumbsup2

You can punch a hole, just make sure you dont damage the stripe in the back and dont punch thru any info on the front

When I've travelled with a group, and I know we are going to be doing a lot of Fast Passin', we'll generally designate one person to carry all the cards/tickets. They are passed out as we get to the gate, they are collected on the other side. Then, for Fast Passin', one person already has all the tickets, they can go to the machines, while others are doing something else.

This has worked well with the little ones too.

The ONLY thing that was troublesome was that some of us had AP's, with the same image - we eventually got smart enough to write names on the back of the cards.

For me, tho I have thought about a lanyard, I've decided they would irritate the bejebers outta me - I'm much better off with the keys/tickets/etc in my park bag (Heys Travelmate).

Regardless of what you decide, you'll have a blast!!
