What does it take to push your buttons.

One thing that really pushes my buttons is when I see double standards, i.e. people who point fingers and complain about being picked on when they are doing the same thing.

People taking drugs lightly just upset and sadden me.

It really depends on my mood.

I get what you're saying, but though a major health problem can be stress inducing and aggravating, so can a few words from someone.

Arrogance usually gets me the most.

Yeah, that tweaks my nerves too.

Bullies really get to me, and I feel compelled to say something in a person's defense, which usually does no good, since bullies are never in the wrong.

People who fight dirty-- namecalling, etc instead of having civil disagreement (or maybe that's just MY family;) )

And not to get TOO political, but people who think they're the only ones who work hard and pay the bills, and assume that others are living high off of their tax dollars. (Whoops, that may just be MY family again...):rotfl:

Oh--and generic teacher bashing frosts my cookies, too.

Anti-education attitudes. You know, really dumb people who decide that those who know more and who love to learn are "boring" or "elitist" or something along that line. I don't necessarily "react" to them but they annoy me anyway. I mean, ANYONE can learn if they want to! There's nothing elite or snobby about it.

Oh I was just remind of a button pusher of mine. Or maybe it's just aggrivating to me.

Someone who asks you for your opinion or advice about something, maybe you have dealt with yourself, you give it and then they either ignore the advice or argue with you about the advice you gave.
Then they decide not to follow any idea/advice given and then come back and complain to you about the same damn problem.

If you aren't gonna follow the advice why ask for help in the first place?

Spending too much time on the DIS Community Board during Election Season.

;)

Ohhh, that happens here A LOT! Another thing that happens is people jumping in and giving advice when none was asked for.

One thing that bothers me is when people turn a blind eye to other people's problems. I'm not saying that they have to do anything but to totally deny it or assume that all of these people did something wrong seems unfair to me. I don't know why this bugs me so much but it does.

-----------------------------------------------

And all the while doing so in a gleeful, arrogant manner.. It's such childish behavior - kind of like, "Nah, nah, nah, nah, nah.." :sad2:

Guess the only other thing that really pushes my buttons is DD's in-law's coming into their home whenever they please and going through their mail!! I live with DD and her family during the winter months and even I wouldn't presume to go through their mail!!!!

I agree. I think it's very annoying when you don't ask for advice, but people give you tons of unwanted advice, and then get mad when you don't take it. Sometimes people just want to vent, and aren't looking for help.

True on that.
I think those post should have a disclaimer on them. Some thing on the lines of I am just venting do not post on this thread

Yeah, but then why did you post it? Also, are you going to then get upset that no one is posting on your thread?

I'm very variable today in my views...hope that doesn't push your buttons ;) :rotfl:

1) To get attention.

2) You just showed me a button I did not know I had.

Why do you make me think on a Sunday? This is a day of rest.:rotfl2:
You are right. If you post it then you want someone to reply.
But I guess if you do not get the answer you want then you can get mad

It usually takes quite a bit to make me explode, but a pet peeve of mine is when people make the hugest deal out of little things that can, maybe not easily, but can be taken care of. As well as let it contaminate their personality for the rest of the day with an additude and push it onto others making everyones day miserable. How they shouldn't let spilled drinks on their carpet or honest accidents ruin their day when it shouldn't take but 10 minutes to forget.

Also someone who tries to get you to fix their problems, and when you can't help them they get angry with you.

Kids who disobey their parents, hide things, and when they get caught say it isn't fair and that it was their parents fault.

When someone asks for your advice, don't take it and continue to complain but not do anything about it. All of these usually happen with friends.

Oh, I know, pick me, pick me!!

My buttons get pushed when someone has that holier-than-thou, superior, condescending attitude. I can't help but want to take them down a notch or two. I mean, it's for their own good, you know.
