What does it mean if only guarantee rooms are available?

I was just playing around looking at some cruises for next summer and for Ocean View and Veranda only have an option to do a guarantee room, not pick your own room. I've never seen anything like that before. Does that mean the cruise is basically sold out and they might have a couple extra rooms?

It means a certain percentage of staterooms in those categories have been booked. To allow for some flexibility, DCL may remove the ability to select a stateroom and offer it as GTY -- guaranteed that level stateroom or higher will be assigned, but you are allowing DCL to do the assignment. I think if it's a "regular" GTY (not *GT), you can make requests, but it's just a request.

As to how "sold out" is the cruise... hard to say. Nobody knows exactly how many staterooms are left when offered as GTY. If all categories are GTY, then it's probably getting full. But that's just a guess.

Enjoy your cruise!
