What does everyone do the day they switch resorts on a split stay reservation?

Like others, I drop my luggage off at bell services to be transferred and then head to a park. I'm transferring from CSR to AKL in few weeks. We're going to AK that day.

I think it depends a bit on your preferences. I would not find a rest day as restful without a room available (for naps, in case it is raining, etc) and I agree that you that Wed is an ideal park day. We always get up early and drop off our bags at bell services - WDW will bring your bags to the next resort for you for free - as long as it is another WDW resort (just know that once you are at your new hotel you usually have to call down to check for your bags and then go get them or ask bell services to bring them up and they usually do not arrive until 4 or after). We then head out to a park and then take our afternoon break once we know we have a room. Now with shorter park hours (and our kids are older), we may not always do an afternoon break. Then we plan a rest day so we can enjoy the new resort. I also recommend packing with the split stay in mind - I use packing cubes and pack for each stay in different color cubes - it makes it easier. Have fun!

Well DD and I were just discussing our next trip. I asked her about doing a water park and she said it depends on the resort we stay at. If we stay at POFQ (as an example) she would want to go to a water park but if we stay at BC/BCV she would skip a water park. I then told her the only way I could justify BC would be to do bc a split stay and rent points at BCV. She said she’s all for that. So now I guess I’ll be doing what I said earlier if we can rent points. A relaxing morning with something easy going during the day.

We were also trying for the Beach Club late July, early August this year, with rented DVC points. Unfortunately there were only a few days of availability for studios and we didn't want to start hopping all over staying at 3 or more resorts. We luckily were able to find a 7 night confirmed DVC reservation at the Boardwalk for our first 7 nights (thank goodness they at least got rid of the clown face at the pool), then we have a Polynesian lake view for the last three nights.

We're trying to figure out if we need waterpark tickets or not, since the deluxe resorts have such nice pools. I really wish we could have been able to secure a beach club stay but it wasn't in the cards. BC has such an amazing pool area. Either way, we're just thrilled to be able to stay in that general area (Beach Club, Yacht Club, Boardwalk) for the first time. It's my favorite area in all of the WDW property. Just love the setting and the ease to EP and HS.

I'm praying for a good lake view villa at the Polynesian too. Hope you have good luck with the Beach Club.

We’re looking at November 2022 which can be really difficult at the Epcot resorts. We rented points from an awesome Disser November 2018. She let me hold a spot months ahead and when the day came she was right on it. We did a week at BWV. It was amazing. I’m undecided on if I want to rent points in the first place (covid scared me with the nightmares I read) and if I’ll do dis boards or one of the sites. I’ve explained this to DD and she is fine with wherever and actually loves POFQ so she’d be happy there too. But We love the Epcot resorts.

Thank you! We usually have a carry on suitcase each and live out of the suitcase. We only get toiletries out of the bag when at the resort. So it’s usually not hard to pack up.
