What does DVC do w/ points they buy back?

Just wondering-what does DVC do with points they purchase back from member who want to sell? I would assume the use year remains the same w/ the points, but do they break down the points into smaller increments if necessary?

for Example, if DVC buys back 300 OKW points-June use year do they break that up into smaller allotmentments-such as 50 points, 150 points, 100 points-all add-ons?
Do they ever offer these points to first time buyers?

DVC has a waiting list from current members at sold out resorts(OKW,BWV,HH,VWL) that they call when they buy back re-sales(ROFR).The price for the add-ons will be the current price at the time($84 now). DVC does break down the contracts if needed for the prospective buyer.
To my knowledge I don't think they offer these points to new buyers.Doc would know for sure.

We are in the process of our first DVC purchase. I contacted Disney and they had some VWL for sale, so they must offer their buybacks to first time purchasers as well as add-ons.

VWL never completely sold. DVC discontinued sales to new members when they began presales of BCV, but there were still points available. They assumed that those points would be purchased by existing members as add-ons, but have now found they have more available than expected and have reopened VWL sales to new members.

As mentioned above, contracts obtained by ROFR are broken down (if needed) and resold as add-ons at OKW and BWV. I'm not aware of any availability at those resorts for an initial purchase- only as an add-on.
