What does DVC Consist Of?

What does DVC allow us to do? Is it strictly kept to hotel vacations, or is it like camping/motor homes?

more of a timeshare thing.

the main goal is typically staying in larger villas (such as 2BR units) rather than hotel rooms (although studios are similar in size to hotel rooms with kitchenettes, so staying in hotel-type rooms is an option if that's all you want).

edited to add: the theory is more of a "home away from home"-type experience so daily housekeeping to clean and make the beds is out...there is a vacuum in the closet and you are mostly on your own.

you can stay in a timeshare unit within the DVC system or you can trade out through RCI for other timeshares.

DVC also allows direct buyers to trade through disney for disney cruises and disney hotel rooms and "adventures by disney" tours (although they tend not to be very good deals.)

buying into DVC is like owning part of a vacation home - you pay upfront for your portion of the deed/lease and then you pay annually for maintenance.
