What does 'dedicated' mean?

i.e. a dedicated 2 bedroom.

I have no idea what this means... can someone enlighten me?

This term applies to 2BR villas only. A dedicated means that there is only one entrance to the villa. A non-dedicated room means that it is a 1BR and a studio put together. There are 2 entrances to a non-dedicated.

A dedicated room is a DVC room that is not connected to any other room and can only be accessed through the hall.

A lock off room is one that is connected internally to another room to create other rooms.

For example, a lock off studio is connected to a lock off one bedroom. When the door between them is open, it becomes a lock off two bedroom.

A dedicated studio, on the other hand, can only be booked as a studio. I believe that most of dedicated rooms are 2 bedrooms.

Besides not having a second entrance to the villa, in most cases, a dedicated 2 bedroom has 2 queen beds in that second bedroom. The only exception to that is at BCV where some of the dedicated 2 bedrooms have a pull out and 1 queen. So, if you are booking a dedicated 2 bedroom at BCV, and you want the 2 queens, you have to ask for it, and if you get it, it says so on the confirmation sheet that you get.
