What does concierge level mean on a Disney cruise?

in other words, what is the difference between concierge and verandah? I am just not sure what constitutes the price difference. Do you get any added benefits or something? I know concierge rooms at WDW resort get you some food all day and the opportunity to purchase things other room categories cannot, but have no idea what it means on a cruise.

While all Disney Cruise Line staterooms feature luxury amenities and world-class service, Guests of our Concierge Suites and Staterooms enjoy an expanded range of offerings:

  • Down Duvets: Enjoy a superlative night’s sleep with the softness of genuine feather duvets, featured in Concierge master bedrooms.
  • Pillow Talk Program: Guests of our Concierge Suites may choose from pillow options including hypoallergenic, feather and therapeutic memory foam.
  • Personal Robe and Slippers: These plush comforts are yours to use for the duration of your cruise.
  • Media Library: Located in the Concierge Lounge, this library features an extensive selection of music CDs, DVDs, video games and board games for your family to enjoy in the comfort of your room. Please note that this room type does not include a DVD player.
  • Pre-Arrival Services
Our signature Concierge services begin before you board the ship and continue throughout your vacation and beyond. Pre-reserve many of your onboard activities and services online, up to 120 days prior to your sail date. You may also inform the Concierge Team of your preferences 125 days prior to sailing, and they will make the bookings on your behalf when the 120-day booking window opens. Requests will be processed in the order in which they are received.

A dedicated Concierge Services Specialist is available Monday through Sunday, 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM. Call (866) 784-1654 for personalized assistance in planning every cruise detail, including:
    • Port Adventures
    • Reservations for Palo or Remy, spa treatments or nurserystays
    • Dining room seating requests
    • Special occasions and celebrations
    • Any other special requests, from pre-arrival to post-cruise

Please note that requests are confirmed at time of booking and cannot be guaranteed. Guests under 18 years of age must have parent or guardian permission to call this number. All experiences are subject to availability and may be subject to capacity restraints.

    Shipboard Services
During your cruise, the benefits of signature Concierge service begin with priority check-in and boarding at a dedicated check-in station. Our onboard Concierge team will meet you at a private welcome reception—exclusive to Concierge Guests—and will be available to attend to your needs, questions and special requests. Enjoy assistance with:
    • Reservations (Port Adventures, Palo and Remy dining, spa treatments and nursery stays)
    • Dining reservation confirmations and changes
    • Priority tendering in ports of call
    • Updates to your personal itinerary
    • Special occasions and celebration planning

    Exclusively for Concierge Guests
As a Concierge Guest, you’ll enjoy exclusive access to dedicated areas on the ship, including the Concierge Lounge. Located amid the Concierge Suites on Deck 12, this stylish, modern retreat allows Guests to relax in quiet comfort, sip a cocktail, access the Internet, watch news on a large-screen TV, and enjoy complimentary food and beverages offered throughout the day.

From the Lounge, Concierge Guests can access a sun deck via a private entrance. Soak up the sun at this VIP onboard oasis and savor tranquil breezes, cooling water misters, cushioned lounge chairs, and a bar stocked with water and refreshments.

The list above does describe the concierge benefits but I think it is hard to express how that translates into your individual cruising experience. The biggest benefit seems to be a little less stressful pre-cruise and on the cruise since you have the hosts to assist. It generally is quieter and more relaxing. Not sure it is for everyone but most all who have done concierge will say it is a great experience. Also not sure the prices really are justified for what you get, but there are multiple threads on that topic on the boards.

In a nutshell, booking a concierge stateroom typically means you will have access to just about anything you want on the ship - first dibs on shore excursions, restaurants reservations, character meets, cabanas on CC, plus special receptions, nicer amenities in your stateroom, etc. Also, priority tendering, priority embarkation, staterooms ready on embarkation day before other guests and being personally escorted off the ship on a private elevator and in front of everyone else in line on debarkation day. It also means, if you forgot to pack your DH's dress shoes for Remy, they will find a pair in his size for you so you can keep your reservation! When we sailed concierge in Europe, it also meant presents delivered to our door when DS got sick, passport assistance when everyone had to turn their passports in in Iceland (no waiting in line in the theater!) and finding us a private tour guide in Scotland when we were told there were none available. We've sailed concierge on the Dream, Fantasy and Magic and the concierge staff are incredible. They will do their utmost to make sure you have an enjoyable cruise.

We only sailed Concierge once, but the perks I liked the best were the lounge and being able to book a Cabana.

When you arrive there is a nice spread of hors d’oreuvres s and cocktails.
Plus, everyday there are nice breakfast offerings, a fantastic coffee machine for expesso, cappuccino and coffee, plus juices etc. There are two cocktail hours everyday for both dinner seatings, featuring Delicious pre dinner snacks, cocktails, wine, beer and soft drinks. Plus, late night goodies offered each night.

Free cocktails etc.is a really big thing for some people. I am guilty of eating too many hors d’oeuvres and ruining my appetite for my Palo dinner.

And having the Conciege Team contacting me pre-cruise and being able to book a Cabana was Fantastic.

But, as mentioned whatever you need will be accommodated. The Concierge Teams are fantastic.
