Anyone know? My sister will be turning 25 this month and is most excited about her insurance rate dropping.

If your with State Farm, don't expect any decrease!!! I called them to ask for a discount when I turned 25 and they said I don't get a discount. Therefore I switched companies and my insurance went down at least 30 dollars a month.

probably none with Allstate either...

But when I turned 25 they said i was already low due to being married...no change for married and 25.

Ahh, she has Allstate so I guess she will wait and see. I'm going off her policy which is currently giving her a two car discount and I think she's banking on a big enough discount when turning 25 to keep it where it is with the 2 car discount.

Mine didn't go down at all either. I actually was shopping around at 25 and several different insurers told me it was just a myth. I had looked forward to it for so long too.

Allstate is the company that my daughter has her policy with. Already checked it out and she should go down about $30 per month when she turns 25; provided she does not get anything on her record in the meantime. My daughter has a 2004 Madza 6 with full coverage and 1 accident on her record (rear-end collision;which cost her the safe driver discount) and will be paying about $1300 for the year (includes rental also).

With State farm (where I live) for males it goes down at 25
For females it goes down when you get married or when you turn 25, whatever comes first.

We had progressive, my rate was $964 at age 24, with one accident in 2001. 25/50 coverage, etc. On a new car.

Well, at age 25, which I turned in November it only went down about $5 a month, also the accident "dropped" off my record.

So I called Geico this week because my renewal is up with Progressive and guess what... I'm saving almost $100 a month now!! Call around. I know when I did a quote with Progressive online as a new customer the rate was much less than my current, their 800 #'s explanation, was that they offer cheaper rates to new customers! Bye Bye Progressive!
