We are planning a trip to FW in April '06. I am new here and see posts about AAA Rate. What is it, & how do I get more info? I just let my AAA expire and was not sure if I should renew AAA or do Good Sam Club roadside assistance.
AAA rate means that if you have the AAA motor club membership then you get a discount on your reservations. Go ahead and make your ressie and ask for the AAA rate. If you get it, then renew your AAA. They only allow so many sites at a AAA rate so they may already be sold out. HOPEFULLY, you will get a discount site. The only other discount rate readily available is the AP (annual pass). Again, those are limited too. Sometimes close to your trip disney will release other discount codes for the general public but that is usually non peak travel dates and then you have to be quick on your toes to get in on those.
I would advise you to go ahead and book and ask for the AAA, then renew if need be.
Another tip, if you are traveling into two "season" (value, peak, regular) then your rate for the entire trip is based on the rate of the day you check in. SO if you check in at a value rate you get a cheap rate your entire stay. If you check in at the tail end of a peak or holiday rate, you pay a much higher rate for your entire stay. So, check your dates with the calendar to make sure you don't overlap seasons. If you do overlap seasons, and you will be paying the higher rate, then make two ressies so you don't pay the higher rate for the other days.
Thanks Again... I just called & made our reservation and of course, no AAA discounts available, just my luck We are also bound by the kids school schedule, so our whole trip falls w/in peak season. Oh well!
I am going to check out those other sites though, maybe I can save something somewhere else!
