What documents are required for UK cruisers

Hiya

Just wondering what UK residents require to take with regard to the appropriate documentation for booking in for the cruise.

I noted from some documentation we should take our passports and get a visa. We get a "visa" of sorts that we fill out on the plane. Do we have to apply for a separate visa for the cruise, and will I require to take my child's birth certificate as additional id for her, she is just listed on my passport and does not have one of her own - or photo id.

Any information appreciated.

Hi Stevie!

All you'll need are your passports. No visas needed - we can travel on the Visa Waiver Scheme and you'll get your green form to fill out either when you check in for your flight or on board the aircraft. You won't need any visas for ports of call.

One word of caution tho - when you check in for the cruise, they'll take your passports and keep them until the morning of debarkation (6.00am to be precise - what us non-US citizens have to do!). You need photo id to exit and re-board the ship, so unless you've got a photo drivers licence (which DH has but I don't) you'll get a photocopy of the picture page of your passport which is supposed to be delivered to your stateroom the day after sailing. Ours never arrived so we had to go to Guest Services to get these. No biggy, but be prepared! And only adults 18 and over need photo id so you won't need any more documentation for your DD.

I thought the green waiver forms might be ok, but was worried about documentation for DD.

Thanks for putting my mind at rest, had visions of turning up at the dock check in and not being allow on lol.
