We are traveling the first part of the month. Wondering how you pack for this time of year. I know the forecast average but not sure if the high 70's last long enough to warrant shorts and a tee or should i pack sweatshirts and jackets too?

I usually go to parks wearing shorts and a polo shirt, however I do usually pack a light jacket during that time of year especially if I plan to stay for the evening.

Where are you from?
Coming from Salt Lake City where it is colder we are usually in short sleeve shirts and shorts and very hot. Some evenings waiting for F! or the fireworks we have wanted long sleeves and pants. At those times I saw people in jackets and some even wrapped in blankets, which would have been much too hot for me. I think it is partly what you are used to.

exactly!! i cant remember the last time I wore shorts in Oct...but im from CA and Im cold with 60º:rotfl:..i usually wear capris all day and change into pants once the sun goes down and I wear short sleeve shirt but put 5 jackets on with gloves at night:lmao:

I do capris and a tee shirt - but a tie a sweat shirt jacket around my waist (I have a navy Mickey one and a pink Tink one, that a pretty much only wear at Disney - kind of like my Disney uniform!).

Tees and shorts or jeans during the day, but in the evenings definitely a light jacket and jeans or pants.

Jeans and a tee during the day, sweatshirt added for nighttime.

October is a bit of a confusing month... it can be in the 90s or it can be in the 70s. I would plan on jeans but take shorts just in case you get a hot patch.

Just Shorts and t-shirt. That way if I get cold, I *have* to buy a new sweatshirt to keep warm. :rotfl:

Just kidding. I usually wear capris and a short sleeve shirt. The mornings are usually pleasant, and it warms up quickly. In the evenings it can get chilly, so I wear a lightweight sweater or jacket that I've tied around my waist. I'm from Utah too, so *cold* may mean different things to you.

Another option is just to wear jeans, roll them to capri length, and roll down if you get cold at night. Pair them with a long-sleeve tee that you can wear under a tank top or short-sleeve shirt and tie around your waist during the day.

My disney uniform seems to be cargo that can be rolled up or down (i don't like shorts b/c it means having to worry about sunscreen and sticking to plastic seats) and a t-shirt. Then a sweat shirt to layer on and off with gloves and a scarf for extra warmth (but that is for December!). I also have a lightweight water/wind shell jacket that can go over the sweatshirt for rain.

For our trip in october i'm not planning on jackets-just light sweatshirts, t-shirts and cargos.

My pics from our two October trips (2008 and 2009), are a mix: The first couple days of the first trip, we were HOT, shorts and tank tops, and sweating still. By the end of the week we were in jeans and long sleeve t-shirts. The next year was a little more stable than the first, and I generally wore capri's and tshirts, but had to have a sweatshirt for evenings. For DD, we had dresses that we could layer leggings under when it got cooler, often in the mornings and evenings we added those along with a sweatshirt. DS we often started in shorts but since we always go back for a nap/rest in the late afternoons, we would change him to pants/jeans for evenings.
So I know this doesn't make packing easy! We are going again in October and will face the same issues.
A light sweatshirt is generally fine though, no need for heavy jackets.

Well I live in CA, but I live in Northern CA and it gets really cold up here. That said, sometimes yes, I get hot, but not overly hot. I'm comfortable in jeans and a tee and a sweatshirt for night. I'd probably pack a pair of shorts but I don't know if I'd wear them in October.

I was there last October (mid-month) and it was hot! It was in 80's all day (which can feel even warmer when you're walking around the park all day) but it definitely got cool at night. At night we changed into jeans instead of shorts and needed sweatshirts. So, I'd bring a little bit of everything :-)
