What do you wear in first class?

I know this is a bit of silly question, but I leave on Sunday on an upper class flight on Virgin - my first time out of the pits of economy!

So...can I just wear my usual (neat and clean!) jeans and trainers, or does it call for something a bit more upscale?

dont over dress..... we flew upper for the first time a few weeks ago and DW felt out of place because she was over dressed!

The easiset way to spot someone who has never flown in first class is someone who is well dressed!!!
Go neat but very casual (shirt / trousers / jeans and a jumper). Trainers are fine (not really grotty ones).
Have a lovely trip - it really is the ONLY way to travel. :cool1: :cool1:

Wear whatever you feel comfortable in, be it jeans or a suit. There aren't any rules. I don't do casual well and always feel happier when erring towards smart in any situation. So, what I'm trying to say is just be you, whatever that is.

I agree.....just be you. :goodvibes

I always travel in jeans, t shirt & trainers. exactly the same as I would if I were going in Economy. :)

Have a fab trip.

we wear jeans and t's, including the kids, theres no dress codes.

but it does get chilly, I always ask for the PJ's even on a day flight as they're nice to slip on and keep warm with.

Thanks everyone - I feel much better now that I know I don't have to go out and invest in a versace frock and a pair of manolos!

Islandmum, I see you're off to Boston next year - that's my hometown. I hope you love it!

yep its our first visit, really looking forward to it, watched alot of travel channel things to see and do stuff - especially want to go to Louis - the birthplace of the hamburger:thumbsup2

You will be fine in jeans and a t, I have even seen people in joggers, anything goes :)

I think the only thing you need to make sure you wear is..........a big smug smile as you walk past all us poor souls in ecconomy:rotfl:

Have a great trip

We flew UC with Virgin in January, my Mum and Dad were dressed quite smartly but we (me, DH and 2 LO's) just wore smart(ish!) joggers and pumps....

At the end of the day, we went for comfort and you can wear whatever you please. We go UC again in Feb and again, will wear whatever we fancy as long as we are clean and tidy :lmao:

It was funny because we were waiting the in the Escape lounge at Manchester for our flight and there was a business man sat reading his newspaper who wouldn't give us the time of day, he probably presumed we'd paid to use the lounge and were not going UC. I looked at him a couple of times but he refused to let on...... As soon as we boarded the plane, he was just down the UC cabin from us, he smiled and said hello :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl2: My DH did have a name for him but I am far too polite to use it on here :rotfl2:

Have a great time and hope you enjoy UC ;)

Ali :goodvibes
