What do you want to see at CRV

Assuming for a minute that the architect's drawing are (1) real and (2) locked in, what would you like to see in the upcoming Contemporary Resorty Villas (or whatever they are going to call it).

Do they need their own TS restaurant? If so, another signature CG-ish place, or more casusal like the GFC? Dedicated CS? What else?-

I'm not sure about the restaurants. I think a CG type would be appropriate, but it will be very close. Whatever level of dining should be sleek and sophisticated.

My thoughts have centered more toward what the interiors of the villas would like. I would love to see very sleek, sophisticated styles similar to but different that the refurbishment in the existing contemporary.

I'm imagining a kitchen/bath with European style modern dark cabinets with really nice granite countertops and very modern fixtures. Maybe imagineering could sneak something in with the TVs, sound, or fixtures that would be state-of-the art or futuristic. :dancer:

I'm imagining a very sophisticated New York Style Apartment. :smooth:

I'd also like to see the front of the villa being all glass so that you can have a magnificent view of the MK.

Of course, I don't know how kids would enjoy this very sleek, fab-u-lous decor, or how DH would love paying for the high rates for such luxury.

First, and most important, I'd like to see a point chart that is in line with the EPCOT charts, so there won't be an incentive for VCR owners to stay at EPCOT in order to save points.

They will absolutely need another signature restaurant. California Grill has all the business it can handle.

A good walking path to the Magic Kingdom. I like the monorail, but most people just like to walk.

Depending upon the number of rooms at CRV, another restaurant along the lines of the Steakhouse is a possibility.
What I would like to see is a rooftop, members only club/lounge. Just like the one we got with the Boardwalk. :rolleyes1

I'd like to see a better pool so the CRVer's don't pool hop over to WL! :rolleyes1

Doesn't one of the threads mention a water park like pool, ala SAB in the proposal? That's what I would want to see.

I was just thinking about that! For DVC members, no matter where they're staying, and guests of CRV. You'd have to have eligibility open enough to gather a breeding population -- can't have a rooftop bar for four people.

I was flashing back to watching the legendary Key West sunset from the rooftop bar at La Concha! (Actually, it's better from Mallory Square, but the La Concha is more cooler!)

I'll go to the thrift store to try and find some more jackets.

Great, check in the backroom to see if there are any Three Mountain ones left. :thumbsup2

I would love beds similiar to Westin's Heavenly Beds. That is the best bed that I have ever slept in. State of the art electronics, Surround Sound speakers. Plush Bathrooms with all the bells and whistles. Ditto on the points to stay in line with the Epcot Resorts. Reasonable maintenace fees. It will need it's own Table Service Restaurant and counter service. The main hotel is busy.

It is normally such a long walk from the main building ie: VWL, VBW, VBC my DH suggests a motorized walkway like they have in the larger airports connecting the new VCR to the tower!!

What do you think???

No motorized walkways. We want a WEDway! At least that's what I think, since you asked.

I'd like really cool pool...but adult oriented (in a family sense of course)...a lazy river, 8 foot deep section, in-pool bar, plants, big hot tub, maybe a waterfall into the pool you can sit or hide under.

I'd also like all lock offs. Certain times of the year studios near theme parks get really hard to come by. The entries to said lock-offs to be in the vicinity of the front door and not by the balcony (this makes a huge difference in terms of noise). Being able to make a one, two or possible three bedroom would be nice.

I don't know about the window walls...it looks to me like 2/3rds of the rooms face other rooms.

:thumbsup2 for a Members Only lounge facing the MK on the top floor. That's the one place I think Disney really did us disservice. There should have been a top floor lounge in every DVC facing whatever the View is. VWL and SSR excepted since VWL doesn't have that sort of view and SSR already has a lounge. Heck I'd settle for a larger than normal bar with a DVC members happy hour.

If its a trade between higher points or higher maintenance fees to pay for the monorail/boat access...I think I'd prefer higher points.

I'd like it to be super modernistic. I'm not sure how you make that tie into Disney unless its through the Incredibles.

If you put in a motorized walkway there could be a passing lane for those in a hurry and a standing lane for people who have more time!

WED way people mover (yes I do love this attraction) has one speed. You know how people are, getting to the MK on time for opening.

I just wanna see me there. :teeth:

Oh, and I agree with the lounge/viewing area on the top floor. Possibly a bar/lounge, but I would think it should be for guests staying there only. If you opened it up to all DVC members and guests of the resort, ... could you imagine that place during Wishes?! Esp. if they pipe in the music!

I think it would be great if they added a new fine dining establishment, similar to V&A's (maybe somewhere between Citricos and V&A) but with a more "modern" appeal and decor.

For the rooms, I definately think of NY and using the newly renovated CR rooms would be bad... HDTV plasmas, dream beds, etc!

Of course we have to remember, luxuries like these mean high MFs and high point requirements. I'm hoping that the costs are somewhat in-line with the Epcot resorts because if it is higher, I might not be as interested....

OOOOooo... another good thing... ease of booking at the 7 month window! :teeth: ( :rotfl2: I can hear the debates now)!

Nothing. Sorry I just do not think CRV is all that exciting. Would much rather AKL.

Actually, the linear induction motors on the peoplemover are variable and can acheive speeds of up to 40mph. TTA currently makes it up to 10mph. After loading, there is no reason why the cars couldn't move faster as they aren't attached to each other (at most, 4 cars/train). The airport conveyor-belt style walkway typically has a constant speed, regardless of having a passing lane or not. Plus, how many times have we all got stuck behind someone just standing on the passing side in airports?

Besides, it's all just dreaming right now. If I were thinking practically, I would never have suggested it in the first place ;)

Heck, some Imagineer you would be. :rolleyes1
Remember the words of the late Imagineer Randy Bright, who said in reference to the Journey Into Imagination Pavillion, "If your concept has to break the rules, then go ahead, break all the rules." :thumbsup2
