I found a deal on the Cricut Expressions for $199.99 with free shipping. It comes with 4 cartridges. I'm planning my wedding so I found it on a wedding planning board.

I want to make my own programs and place cards. I also am pretty crafty and would make handmade greeting cards. What do you use your cricut for? I used to scrapbook, and really should finish one I started a few years ago but I started just making shutterfly books so I don't do that as much.

What can I use a cricut for? And is this a good price? (it's at Target if anyone wants one - their one day deal online so you need to buy online today).

Yes, that is a good price since it includes 4 cartridges. Two years ago I bought mine on HSN with four cartridges and it was about $280 at the time which was good then.

Just so you are aware though, there is going to be a new anniversary edition of the expression debuted on HSN April 25 or 26. I'd be curious to see what that price will be.

I use mine for scrapbooking, making cards, making invitations, projects for my nieces for school. There are many options of things to do on them.

SOunds like a good price escpecially with the cartridges. I'm just curious how many invitations you are going to be sending out and how much time you think you'll have to work on them. I love using my cricut but it is time consuming.

Thanks for pointing this out. :thumbsup2

I have been looking for a "deal" on an Expression and this is the best I have seen recently (with the 4 carts and free shipping).

I just ordered one off of Target's website. It is supposed to arrive between the 27th-29th!

I'm looking at doing programs- about 150 of them. Along with reserved signs for ceremony seating and maybe signs for the bride/groom chairs. I'm ordering invitations because I don't want to mess with DIYing them.

Wedding is in early September so I was planning on starting on programs in May or June- so I'll have a few months to complete these.

WooHoo!

Just wanted to say thanks again for posting the heads up about this discount. My Cricut bundle box just arrived today (I had it sent to my office) and I am very excited about it.

When the receiving dept brought it to my office (it was delivered by UPS), I was VERY surprised at how big it was. Only to find out that the machine was in a box, inside another box, inside a VERY big outer box with packing to ensure its safe delivery!

Thumbs up to Target and Cricut for the shipping.

I only have the small Cricut but I love it. That is a good price on the Expression. I use my for scrapbooking, school projects for kids and card making. I'm starting to think of graduation anouncements for my son. I have the Sure Cuts a Lot program and you can find a lot of free svg files on line to cut. I haven't bought a Cricut cart since I got SCAL.

Have fun.

Interesting, is it hard to figure out? Those cartridges can be so expensive even on sale.

Great deal on the machine. I love mine so far. I made my son's first birthday invites with a Hawaiian theme. I found surf board paper that I sewed to brown craft paper invites with my sewing machine and used the Cricut to make his first initial with a hibiscus flower hanging from it. I made 1.5 inch tags that said 'first birthday'. So much fun!

Last night we watched Ultimate Cake Off. There was lady on the yellow team who made her fondant cut outs using a machine, it sure did look like a cricut machine. Maybe google UCO and see if they have it posted.

I scrap my disney trips with mine (other things too)
I love SCAL - I post files on my blog (since they are Disney - no charge since I worry about copyright)
That is a great deal - depending on which carts depends on the greatness, but any 4 as long as you get one good basic cart (square, circle etc)
I paid $188 with 2 carts for my E

Shooting Star Mom; SCAL is very easy to use. I use it a lot for the fonts and welding the letters together to make a whole words. I'm not to the point of making my own svg files but there are a lot of people out there who do great work and offer them for free. I got mine on craftedge.com. They have a lot of info on their site. I was also going to tell you to check out Reddy's website and I see she posted a few after mine. She does great work and I have used a lot of her Disney stuff (Thanks Reddy). :thumbsup2

Dont bother with SCAL. They will no longer be allowed to work with Cricut due to lawsuit from PC. :headache:

Sort of OT. Can you use any cartridge with the Cricut Cake? I saw the large one at Hobby Lobby marked down to $119 (sadly the 40% off coupon isn't good on it) and I have about 20 cartridges.

I get my cartridges from custom crops, their shipping takes a long time normally but you can get a huge selection of cartridges for $30 or less.

You should go to the cricut official message boards and they have a board for each individual cartridge and people show off ideas that they have made using those cartridges. It's really cool to go throuh

The crafting/scrapbooking board here also does a bunch of cricut stuff as well
