I have seen those shoe ID things, but they will be wearing sandles in the park. My husband suggested getting a hold of those ID bracelets that they have in hospitals. I don't know about that, where would I get them. I was thinking it should be waterproof. I didn't want to spend a fortune either. My kids ages are 6, 4, 2 so I want it to be comfortable for them to wear. What do you guys use for the little ones, any suggestions????

Check out www.childsid.com They have several types of ids and are very durable (medical grade id bracelets, dog tags, necklaces, etc). My 2 yr old wears his id bracelet 24/7 and loves showing his train off to people (you can get designs engraved on them). They also have temporary plastic ones where you can change out the info. I like the stainless one since my son wears it all the time. It has my cell and home #, his dob, town, and full name on it as well. Added security that I like and its fashionable.

Here is what we use: http://id-inside.com/

It is a velcro bracelet that fastens pretty well. It has a slip that you write the info on and slip inside.

I've ordered from here a couple of times (lost the first one between trips) and they ship very quickly. Just watch your mail, though, because they come in a plain long white envelope and you could think it is junk mail.

Thanks so much for the information campingcorgi I got the velcro type that is exactly what I was looking for Thank you.
alloyd- I am going to order a medical alert necklace for myself (I am allergic to penicillin) Thanks for that link!!

We pre-printed clear address labels, which we stuck on the kid's clothing in a discrete place, in small enough print not to be noticed by passerbys. We printed our last name, hotel and cell phone number. We photographed them each morning with the digital camera to record what they were wearing that day.

Our beloved Uncle Ambassador always followed behind as a 'sweeper' to snag runners and strays.

I've been using the ID Inside for about 2 years and LOVE it.

I make my own labels on the computer to put inside and I also laminate them.

I have one made for Knoebels (since we always have the same campsite), Disney, Wildwood (since we always stay at same motel) and a general one for parks, zoos, etc... When leaving, I just slip in the appropriate ID. Saves so much time and DD loves it.

Best $10 ever spent...

I usually do my own. I get the luggage tags with the laminate and then print up business cards with picture, name, ht, wt, hotel, cell numbers allergies, etc.

Then just put it in the luggage tag. When the kids were little I would take the platic ties and loop it through a belt loop on the back of their pants.

Now that they are getting older, I just have them put it in their fanny packs.

Don't forget to make a set for yourself to keep on hand.

On our last trip I printed ID Cards with my daughter's photo and our names, hotel info and cell numbers. I printed a bunch and put one in my daughter's pocket every morning. I also had one for every adult in our party - just incase she was lost, they would have a photo to show a cast member.

I used the ID Me program from Billy Bear.

I have also thought about making an ID charm using a Pet ID tag. You could put a last name and cell phone numbers on the tag and the child could wear it on a shoe lace or necklace.
