What do you use to clean the screen of your smartphone?

We got smartphones for Christmas and despite having Otterbox Defender cases, I can still see dust/debris accumulating on the screen under the cover.

What is safe to use to clean? I used to use alcohol wipes on my old phone but don't want to ruin our new phones.

fwiw, I have a iphone 5s and dh & boys have Samsung Galaxy s4's.

Thanks! :goodvibes

I spray eyeglass cleaner on a lint free cloth and wipe the screen. I have a screen protector on my iphone though, so I don't know if that makes a difference or not.

Purchase screen protectors!!!!!! those can then be wiped with alcohol wipes or a slightly damp cloth--and peeled off and replaced periodically

The screen protector is built into an Otterbox. Will it still work to use a screen protector is addition to an Otterbox? That would be double layer on the screen.

I wipe the screen with a damp microfiber cloth. Periodically I take the otterbox apart and wipe the inside screens.

Just use electronics wipes (Windex and other well-knowns make them) -- they are disposable/inexpensive, and can be found at the usual #1 and #2 big retailers...

This is what we do for the ipads, ipods, and iphones. All have the screen protectors, though.

My otterbox comes with a plastic screen protector (I actually need to change it out, it has a few scratches) and I just rub it on my shirt/jeans/whatever. The screen to my phone hasn't seen the light of day since they took it out of the box at the Verizon store and put the screen protector on it.

A little spit and then I rub it on my hip section of my jeans.

I do have a screen protector, though.

We also use eyeglass cleaner to clean our phones/ipads. I actually spray the cleaner on the screen and then wipe with a microfiber cloth. We have cases with screen protectors on all of our current devices, but I used it many time on my old iphone with no case or screen protector. At work I have Blue Monster screen cleaner and use that for my work iPad as well as the office computer screens.

I have a screen protector and I periodically wipe it off with an alcohol wipe. I've used eyeglass cleaner, and cleaning wipes for computer and TV screens, and the good old spit-and-tshirt routine in a pinch.

To the PP regarding a screen protector inside an Otterbox that has a built in screen protector - you'll probably lose some screen sensitivity and gain almost nothing in return, so I wouldn't bother. One is plenty, in my opinion anyway.

Usually use an older Norwex microfiber facial cloth that is worn out and not as soft on my face. I keep it in my purse and use it for my glasses and iPhone.
