I hear it's getting more and more crowded during free dining.... although I was there for it in 05 and it honestly wasn't that crowded at all. in fact it was very UNDERcrowded.

anyway, I had been planning a trip for my whole family but now realize my nephew will just be too young for us to all enjoy it enough... but I still want to go and want my mom to experience ALL disney has to offer (we were always a one day trip family)... so hell I"m taking her. Mom and daughter trip 08!! Considered fall 07 but I hear this is goign to be a BAD hurricane season and we're getting our house ready to sell so it's not happening.

Ok.. back to my question. what do you think the chances are of the promotion being offered again next year?

Hi,

Your guess is as good as anyone else's!

September is always a relatively slow month at WDW, free dining or no free dining.

I honestly don't know. We are planning a return in Fall 2008 as well. This year, it's just not going to happen. Frankly, we will go whether or not they offer it. It certainly would be a moneysaver though.

As for crowds, well, that's the point of it, isn't it? If Disney wants to keep the crowds coming at a supposedly slow time of year, then they may well offer it. But really, we went last year and it wasn't that crowded. We only had to use a Fast Pass for two attractions and that was in MK on a Saturday. For the most part, we had little to no lines for anything. And we only had to wait longer than 5 minutes for an ADR once (Crystal Palace). So, even if it is more crowded than it used to be in September, the crowds are still manageable enough for me.

We all would like to know this. Will 3 times be the end? Or will it be back? Will they offer it to our UK friends, will there be another bounce back promotion? All August, part August, most of September, part of early October. All we can do is stay tune!

Disney always offers great promotions during September. Many of us were surprised free dining got repeated once, let alone twice.

The chances of a great promotion, 33-45% off the room rate or equivalent, is pretty good. The chances of free dining, where a part of 2 adults and 2"juniors" are basically getting a hotel room for free, aren't as high. The value of dining for 4A (parents and 2 kids 10-18) is more then $140. That exceeds the cost of a room in a value resort and is close to the cost of a moderate room.

Disney hasn't even decided what changes will be made the the DDP for 2008 let alone the possibility of offering free dining.

Thanks, guys! I'll just keep all fingers and toes cross for SOMETHING great in 08!

Unfortunately our house was broken into and vandalized a few weeks back and it will take months to get back to some sort of normalcy so there will be no vacations for us this year.... just when we need one the most!

CinRell, I'm sorry to hear about your house.

I'm hoping for free dining next year because we can't take advantage of it this year, but I'm trying to use a "wait and see" approach instead of counting on free dining being offered for a 4th year in a row. I'd love to get free dining, but if that is not offered then some other deal will probably be offered in its place as Sept. is a slow month for WDW. Free dining is the offer that we'd most like to see happen! : )
