What do you think the 2010 theme should be?

I'm another one who feels like a theme isn't necessary. People should be able to go or should just go just to have fun and to be there.

I liked the year of a million dreams theme, but I'm also not too impressed with the "What will you celebrate?" Makes me feel like since I'm not going for a birthday or an anniversary or anything, my trip is less special than other peoples.

so also I vote for No Theme 2010

how about...Year of a million towel animals if your lucky!
isnt the mouse 75yrs old next year or is that this year? They could have a "wrinkly ears" theme:thumbsup2

Come on folks......face it if you are going to WDW or DL this year EVERYONE is celebrating - YOU are able to go. :cool1:

So if anyone asks when we go this year "What are you Celebrating?" I am simply going to say

* I have a job
* I am alive
* My family is well (finally)
* I am able to fully pay cash for my week in WDW!!!!!:banana:

THINK ABOUT IT.....I may not get a T-shirt that shows what I am celebrating or may not get my $75 voucher/Free day......

But I have a lot to personally Celebrate when I am down there!!

I agree that the "What Will You Celebrate" theme annoys me. It could have been great if they'd went about it in a better way. Nearly EVERYONE who goes to Disney has something to celebrate and they could have nailed it using that idea over the birthday thing. The commercial for WWYC annoys me b/c they show all kinds of celebrations and then bam - it's the birthday free promotion. How many people can REALLY make it on their birthday? So it's a fake theme to get people in the parks and make money.

At least for YOAMD, everyone who entered the parks on ANY day had a shot at getting to do something. Not that Disney "owes" us anything but if they're going to do a theme, do it right. This one has missed the mark imo.

I like the idea of the 18 month 40th anniversary, especially if they add an E-Ticket attraction to celebrate!

I think they should stop the every year themes. It's gotten meaningless.

The Happiest Celebration on Earth was fine, as it was Disneyland's 50th. Even YOAMD, though I never won anything, wasn't a bad idea. This new one is just ridiculous.

They should celebrate WDW's 40th in 2011. That's enough.

Agreed, I have posted this elsewhere on the boards, and also feel that a yearly them is unnecessary. Growing up, We use to go every 5 years because that is when they held their celebrations. I think the only celebration we missed is their 20th celebration. Typically, They use to start there celebrations in October and run through the entire next year. Although, The YOAMD was pretty cool, I still enjoyed their 15th year celebration when you would go through the gates and the little red light went off. I believe they gave away prizes to every 5 guests or something like that.

SIDE NOTE: Since Robo's post I would only ask one thing "YODPCAPC"...Year Of Don't Paint Castle A Pink Cake!

"Year Of What Do We Do With The Empty American Idol Theater Now?"

I'm not an AI fan but it still has to be better than the Doug show! :sad2:

I think the themes are fun but I can see how they can get old quick. The celebration theme is fun for me because of my 25th wedding anniversary. If I didn't have that I would probably think it was so so.
