Hi!

I am really struggling deciding on our vow renewal plans! I am pretty sure we are going to switch our location from the WP to the Sunrise Terrace for a date of January 6th. I would like to book it next week, but am unsure of time (which is why I need your help with the plans below!)> I realized that this location gives me such a feeling of peace whenever I think of it, and that was the date my husband took us on a belated anniversary wishes cruise (our actually anniversary is christmas eve) from the wildnerness lodge, so it feels really fitting. Peace in my heart is a great sign:) But I'm at a total loss over everything else. I really want to have photos with the castle in some way- because to me, that's disney! ANd I'm TOTALLY set on doing an epcot dessert party (which I was told for just the four of us would be 320 bucks in japan, which is fantastic! I'll add photos to it ofcourse!)... my son is adopted from korea, so I like the idea of that architecture, and I also want fireworks photos! So that is in every plan. Along with rose petals:)

So that being said... here's the ideas I have so far. Please tell me what you think and pros/cons I might have not thought of already!! In terms of cost, all plans include atleast 4500 for the package, 570 for DP (including photos), and 350 cd we know we will purchase. And I will have a good 100-150 in floral additions (rose petals, and flower girl). Looks like most include 1-3 hours in additional photo.

Plan 1. 230 Sunrise Terrace Ceremony followed by a 430 1900PF dinner, and Japan DP. Pros: meaningful because of SRT and us being major lodge/northerner types, our very first meal upon arriving at DW for the first time as a family was at 1900pf with our kids and I love the idea of doing it with cinderella, and being able to get photos at the grand and outside before dinner. Cons- I'm not a huge fan of the food at 1900PF! And it's a very kiddy atmosphere- which is good, but also, I'm afraid we won't enjoy it as wellafter a ceremony- but the location can't be beat! Extra costs: photography add on to continue through to dinner (and likely I'd add on before ceremony as well).

Plan 2. Noon Ceremony at SRT, followed by Boat ride and then the 1900 PF dinner and Japan DP. My husband liked this most originally, and I felt it was tooooo much to do in a row! So it is not my favorite plan. Kids will be too tired. I would be willing to do this without the dinner, but my worry is what if we don't get decent castle shots from the boat? That is a must for me! Extra costs: boat and photo time

Plan 3: 230 Ceremony at SRT, followed by boat ride, then Japan DP, and in the morning do a park photo shoot. Because the ceremony is later, we have time for the photo shoot and to comfortablly have lunch and get our children ready. I like this plan for the following reasons: It is very fitting to us (we have a cabin and a pontoon boat and this would be like 'upnorth disney'), and I know my husband likes the idea of us just hanging out on the boat eating cake. Concern about that- weather! And, as much as it is totally us, it might be tooo much us? Feels a little too relaxed almost- but maybe the park photoshoot would change that feeling?? Extra costs: park photoshoot (Mk- 1000), and boat costs/photo.

Plan 4: 230 ceremony at SRT, followed by Jiko dinner, and Japan DP (or 10am ceremony, lunch, rest and then DP). Ok, I have to say I really like this plans theme- 'disney around the world'. Would be fantastic photos. It's missing the castle though!!! Argh! I could get away with that if I did my 'getting ready' shots staying at gf (or poly even)... or if I did the MK photo shoot in the morning. Extra costs: photography to get through dinner, and somehow getting castle shots (175-1000 either extra hour or doing MK photos). I really like this plan... but it also doesn't have as much 'kid' appeal as some of the others- no characters- but, they will love cake and dessert and the vow renewal will likely be quite special enough on it's own.

Plan 5. Similar to above, feels most 'regal to me of all plans. 10am or 230 Wedding Pavillion Ceremony. Jiko Dinner. Japan DP. But it lacks some of the 'us' part.

So, what do you think???

Thank you so much for feedback!!!

Personally I like plan #4! It sounds perfect to me. I know it doesn't have alot of "kid" in it, but I'm sure the rest of the time in Disney will make up for it!

PS - LMK what date you're looking at. I'll have DF the meteorologist come on here and give you the weather on that date, historically and by time and maybe that will help you with your weather worries!! :goodvibes

Thanks! Do you know if you just do 'getting ready' photos at the grand if that will include photos outside? I've seen them done inside beforehand. DH and I will be seeing eachother before the vow renewal (we'll be sharing a room with the kids!), so that's no problem. But I really want some photos with the castle in the background outdoors, and ideally on the beach there too (I think to see the castle you have to go further down nearer to poly?). I was thinking if I'm paying for an extra hour or two of photography, they would walk around the property without any trouble I assumed atleast at the resort you are staying at. I wonder if I'd be better at the poly for the before pics then, since the castle is a better view? Hmmmm.... Ok, once decision at a time.... LOL!!

I like plan #4 as well. One thing, unless they've changed it - and please do correct me if I'm wrong - Sunrise Terrace weddings are on the hour, not the half hour. It was 3 years ago, so they very well could have changed it, but we had the choice of 11:00 am; 1:00 pm; 3:00 pm; or 5:00 pm. We went with 3:00 because I'm not a morning person; 1:00 was too close to lunch; and 5:00 was too close to dinner. Please let us know which plan you go with and what times they have available now!

Hi!
I just thought of something I wanted to post here on your thread. You keep saying you want the VR to be "us". I totally get what you mean, but don't you want it to be a little different than what you normally do? I know you guys have the lake house and go boating and do lots of out dorsy stuff, but maybe somehow incorporating a bit of that with a whole lot of "Disney" will be the perfect choice for you. If I had to choose one of the options for you I would also say #4. I would do the 2:30 ceremony. That way your kids can be well rested before all the events. Dinner at Jiko would be great and it will give you a chance to see AKV!;) Also you can get amazing pictures there. Then the DP in Japan would be so perfect and special because of your DS. Oh, and I would just stay at the GF the night before and the night of the VR. That way you can get all your GF pictures you want! The photographer will take your pictures around the resort. Maybe you should have them come an hour earlier to get getting ready pictures and all the shots you want around the GF. Also, you can see the MK from the GF marina so you can get your castle shots!

There I solved it!:lmao:

I'm gonna send you a PM.

I don't know how to do two quotes in one post, LOL, so bear with me!

First- thanks for the heads up on timing! I guess I"ll find out this week and I'll post to let others know!

And- yep, I think maybe it shouldn't be just 'us' because it seems too ordinary. Like it needs some us, and some pizazz! You've solved all of my problems in one shot:) LOL! Now, can you come over here and help me make the rest of the decisions in my life! LOL!

Looks like plan 4 is popular!! It's my personal favorite as well:) And girls, it is really the most affordable of all my plans I believe, so YAY to that! I'm really, really trying to do the DVC thing!!

Thanks so much for the responses so far!!
