What do you think of the Photopass CD? Thumbs up or thumbs down?

In addition, please post how many photos you got with your Photopass CD, the quality of the photos, the accessibility of the photographers, your overall perception of value, etc.

I am 99% sure I'm going to do this, but wanted feedback from those of you who have done it.

I think the quality of the photos are great. Many with my camera turned out blurry, while theirs were very clear.:thumbsup2

If I had known ahead of time I could order a whole CD for a flat rate, I would have had even more pictures taken.

I ended up adding a friend's photopass, so we ended up with about 125 pictures total. :woohoo: I think you can add 300, but don't quote me on that.

If you wait a couple of weeks before placing the order, you may get an email reminder to order and a 20% off offer. We did, so it was about 100 bucks.

I love the borders you can add!!

Here's one of our castle pictures:

definitely worth it.

WE quit carrying a camera around, with the exception of Character dinning.

Great picture! This is the first time I've heard of this. What exactly is it? Sorry, I'm new to this - I hope I'm not butting in when I shouldn't be.

I just received my CD's in the mail on Monday. Very happy with them. After I told my husband about the option to purchase, he made sure we took our picture with EVERY Disney Photographer we saw! LOL We ended up with 203 pictures, but when I went online to crop and add boarders, my pictures were doubled, so it was 406. When all was said and done, we got 461 pictures. I was concerned with the number, so sent them an email and asked them the maximum number of pictures and was informed that there was no maximum. If they need two disks, they will send you two, no additional charge. So we received two CD's, one with 300 pictures and the other with 161. And yes, if you wait until about 10 days left before your Photopass expires, they will send you a coupon for 20% off.

Pricewise, if you plan on getting atleast 10 prints (at what $12.95 a pop at Disney) I personnaly think it's a good investment. You can print 5x7's and 8x10's at home for a few dollars (less if you go to Walmart).

I love the idea, we didn't quite understand Photopass in Nov and kicked ourselves for not getting more pictures done, but I did buy the cd and will do it again in 2008! Much easier then trying to pack all of those pictures and then kick yourself because you forgot to get one while in the photo shop.

We did it in WDW last year and there was approx. 130 pictures (original), and then after the CM added the borders, tink, simba, cropped some, etc. there were over 200 pictures on the CD.

We loved it, very well worth it! We got pictures of all of us. We had my husband, myself & our daughter. Then my parents, and a cousin. So, even though I split it w/my parents, we put everything on 1 cd. Even when we had split from my parents & cousin 1 day (we had a character lunch), they got another card & they added all the cards together onto 1 cd. So, we would get just our daughter in some, just us in some, then us w/my parents, then added my cousin. Also, got just my parents, and just my cousin in some. So, we had alot of the same pictures, w/different people in them.

I can't speak for DL, as we are only planning our trip there, but I loved the Photopass CD, well worth it in WDW, so I'm sure DL is the same.....

There are Disney PhotoPass photographers located around both parks. Easiest place to find them is in front of the castle, at Ariel's Grotto, PFF, right at the entry way by the big Mickey, Toontown, various photo-op spots in CA.

When you get your picture taken with them the first time, they'll give you a PhotoPass card and then you use that the rest of your trip. Every time you get your picture taken by them, give it to the CM and they will load the pictures on your PhotoPass. When you return home, go to the website and put in your PP ID number and you can view your photos, add borders, crop, etc.

You can then order individual prints (very pricey) or a CD of all the photos to do what you please with. So if you plan on ordering a CD, make it worth your while and take lots of pics. They will also take pictures with your personal camera.

I learned about photopass on here. Best lesson ever. I just ordered my CD from this last trip with ALL 106 photos (heck, it was a 2 day trip with just me and my son). I can't wait for it to arrive and so glad I learned about it.

Cool. This sounds well worth it. I always stress myself out trying to get great pics of everything because I love to scrapbook. I hate lugging the camera around too. This sounds great!

Can someone give me a ballpark of the flat rate fee?

The flat fee for the CD is $125, but if you hold off about two weeks before ordering, they may send you a coupon code for 20% off.

We just received our CD. There were 130 pictures on the CD. Many of the pictures were the same, just cropped in a different way, with added signatures or logo's. Kicked myself when I found out there was no apparent limit to the number you can have taken. $120 bucks for our CD. Get as many pictures taken that you can as the photographers there know all the best spots and the picture quality is excellent.

We did the photopass thing just this past Feb at WDW. By the time we put borders and signatures on the pictures, we had about 500 pics.

The best thing was that we had so many pictures with our whole family, instead of having someone left out taking the picture.

You can also order a scrapbook and a movie. We ordered both. The scrapbook was awesome. The nice thing about the scrapbook was that there were lots of "stock" pictures of things that we missed with our own camera. We are still waiting for the movie.

I looked at the scrap book and movie on the photopass website, I take it that they have a different version of the scrap book and movie pages for Disneyland? Everything on the site was for WDW and I couldn't see any DL things on there.

It worked out well for us as we went to DL in Dec and WDW in Jan and were able to put both on the CD. I wish the pics on the CD would all come up at once, but they don't. They are in folders of 20 pics each and I don't like having to open the folders to view the pics and then go out and into another folder. Maybe I'll have to play around with the files and burn myself another CD. I do like the quality.

I was a little disappointed with the signatures and borders that could be added. I thought there would be a fair amount of clip art and such, but as you edit each photo, there are 4 borders and some signatures that you can add. If you have 200 pics like I did, the same borders get old. I'd have liked more variety. Especially since the price went up on the CD when they made it so you could do your own edits.

Overall I'm glad that I ordered the CD.

We did. It was lovely. We are still waiting for our movie to arrive. We went to WDW this past Feb.

I notice that there have been 3 "Thumbs Down" votes, but no negative comments. I'd love to hear from some of you that weren't happy. Other than cost, what are the negatives?
