What do you think of the Cape May Clam Bake?

YUCK, wasn't like the clams we get in New England so I didn't like them at all,

No it isn't exactly like New England but it is a very nice buffet. We dine there every trip to WDW (11 so far). We live on the Jersey coast so we too enjoy seafood. I've had good and bad seafood dinners here and in New England.

The food at Cape May is plentiful with buckets of clams and mussels, u peel em shrimp, lots of salads, fish, chicken, ribs, mashed potatos, red bliss potatos, corn on the cob and many other selections. There is also a kids section (all can take from there, also) with mini hot dogs, mac and cheese, etc. There is a big selection of breads, I enjoy the corn bread. The dessert selections are fabulous. There is plenty to eat for everyone at this buffet. `

The seafood is not gourmet but the meal is very enjoyable and filling. My 3 DS's love it, too.

We love it there too!
Too many guests assume that it is ONLY seafood, when in reality there is a seafood side and an American side to the buffet.

I always see a lot of grown-ups getting food off the kids bar, especially the fab Chicken Fingers and sometimes Fried Shrimp.

And another thumbs up for the dessert bar, especially the Oreo Cookie, with chocolate moose and dipped in chocolate.......

We tried it for the first time in May, and we loved it! Neither one of us cared much for the clams, but there was so much other good food, we didn't miss them! And, just wait til you see the desserts!!!

We (4 adults/2 children) ate for Thanksgiving 1998 and
loved it. I don't know if it has changed since then ?

My family is from Massachuessts and they loved the clams and mussels!! So I guess its all personal tastes!!

We ate there last year and really enjoyed it. The shells were hard though and there were other stuff. The people were really friendly.

We like it and eat there once every trip...sure it's not gourmet, but where else in Disney can you get that much food for $22 pp. The main reason we eat there is so right after dinner we can walk over the hill to EPCOT and watch the 9PM light show.

We LOVE Cape May Cafe. The clams are small, but plentiful, tender and sweet. Not at all like those large, tough clams! The mussells are great too! My 8 yo loves those, as well. The restaurant has sandcastles in glass cases, so my DD always asks to eat at the "Sandcastle" restaurant. It is our "NEVER" miss restaurant!

You'll hear the gamut of opinions about Cape May. We tried it our last trip and were very disappointed. I'm a huge seafood lover and it just didn't cut it. One big gripe I had was that the butter served with the bread was margarine. Ok, I'm a foodie, but I still think that for the price of that buffet I should get real butter. The icing on the cake was the service-- very very sloooow. We won't return.

BUT, if you do go, try the broccoli salad.

We had the most wonderful server when we were there. That poor woman never stopped moving. She was always there when you needed her, it was as if she had a sixth sense. I wish I could remember her name, because she was fabulous! We really have never had poor, or slow service at Cape May, and between that, and the food is what keeps us coming back time and again!

We will try the Clam bake on our upcoming trip. Hopefully the clams will be as my DF likes them.

Have a PS here for my next visit and have never dined here before. Since I only like fried clam strips, it's good to know that there is plenty of other items offered.
