We're staying at the WL in August for the first time so I'm thinking of Artist Point for a nice meal. It would be me, DH, DD19 and DD4 so we would go early since DD4 doesn't do late meals well.

What's the decor like? Is it more like a lodge in keeping with the theme of the hotel? Opinions on the food? TIA!

Love it! :thumbsup2

We've eaten there several times. The steaks that I have had there have always been great. Never had a bad meal. The Berry Cobbler is awesome.

We have taken our young children there with us. But we take our children with us to most any restaurant. They enjoyed it as well.

I think it is the best restaurant at WDW!!!!

The decor is "refined lodge" -- not as rustic as much of the rest of the lodge, but still very-much in keeping with the theme. It's what you'd expect for the "nicest room in the house".

Artist Point is hands down our favorite restaurant at Disney. The wife loves
the Salmon, I order the Buffalo sirloin, and we both get the berry cobbler for
dessert.

It is our "must not miss" meal of every annual trip.

My boyfriend and I had the same meal on our last trip, except I had the steak and he had the salmon. Add a couple of glasses of wine, and it was excellent!

The service there is exceptional, and the theming is lovely. The windows look out over the resort, so it's quite nice.

I was never excited about Artist Point. The first time I ever went to WDW our very first restaurant was a character breakfast at Artist Point (1996). The food was okay and the atmosphere was decent but nothing special. Over the years the menu never excited me. This Decemeber I brought my brother and sister-in-law on their first trip (along with elderly father)and since we were staying at the WL I thought we would give Artist Point a try. There were a couple th ings on the menu that interested me. I must say that after dark the restaurant seems much nicer and beautiful. The service was great and all the food we had was excellent. I had the pork chop which was superb and two of them had the buffalo filet which they loved. Don't remember what bro had. All the breads were really good and the desserts were wonderful.

Love AP! We've eaten here several times, including on Thanksgiving. Loved it! We already have an ADR for dinner in 15 days.

It is a very nice restaurant - the food was good but in our opinion the portions were not very large considering the price. You should check out the menu on allears and see what you think.

Actually, the more expensive the restaurant, generally the smaller the portions will be. The finer restaurants have begun serving more reasonable, healthy (smaller) portions, but still with the finer ingredients and culinary artistry that you're paying for.

I'm glad to hear such good things! I'll be eating there for the first time this August!

Artist Point and California Grill are our family favorites. Love them!!!

i think it is the most overated restaurant in wdw. we went there for the salmon as it is supposedly out of this world but i have had countless dinners of better slamon for a fraction of the cost.

The food is some of the best on disney property. You are going to love it!

It has been a family favorite since they opened their doors. We take all of our friends and out of town company there..everyone always loves it.

Does anyone have a picture of the Berry Cobbler that I'm hearing so much about? I would love any pictures of the food from here.

Love it love it love it!! I always get the Smokey Portabello Mushroom soup, the filet, and the berry cobbler. YUM YUM!! The last time we ate here, we ordered the chef's menu and I thought it was a great deal and they practically had to roll us out of there!

Enjoy!

Yep, the buffalo with a nice merlot, shiraz, or cabernet is a thing of beauty. The smoky portobello soup is delicious, as are the venison spring rolls, and the best dessert is definitely the berry cobbler. The coffee is excellent, too, as they serve it table side via French press. The service is topnotch and the ambience wonderful. Another thing I like about AP is that they offer a wine flight with your meals for a reasonable fee. I can enjoy some excellent wines with the meal, and when I leave, it's a short walk back to the room! ;)

3 weeks ago we ate there and I had the scallops and they were delicious. I started with the portobello mushroom soup.devine.My favourite restaurant, tied with Citrico's.
