DVC has the right of first refusal on all resales and can buy back one of these if they feel the offered price is too low.
DVC can then offer these repurchased points as add-ons to members at the going rate- currently $80. If you are purchasing thru DVC, there is no difference from any other direct purchase. There will be no closing costs and the use year will be the same as your original contract.
I assume this is "magical beginnings". If they are offering $10, it isn't too bad, but you lose the use of the first year of points (but still pay dues on them). From what I've heard, they are only offering $5 per point at BCV, which isn't worth it when you are paying $3.71 in dues.
That's Magical Beginnings, where you can "sell Back" your first years points to DVC. You will still have to pay maintenance fees on those points, prorated based on when you purchase.
okay I think I am getting it. So if my use year is December and I buy in June will I not be able to use them for June through December or will it start as of December 2002 and go through December 2003?
If you buy now, you probably will be selling back December 2001 points, but verify that with your guide. If you are not going between now and December 1, I would go for it at $10/point.
