What do you take into the parks? I have a DS3 and DS8 so we will have a stroller for storage and will definately have a backpack. Here is my list so far:

change of clothes for DS3
camera
video camera
autograph book & pen
touring plans book
small first aid kit - incl Motrin
snacks - gummies, crackers
small fans w/extra batteries
cell phones
water (in cooler, kept in stroller)

What am I missing? Obviously we will have our tickets, ID and money/credit card. Anything else we should have?

we usually bring a rain poncho to place over the stroller in case it rains. The video camera may become a bit of a hassle when you have to carry everything else but your list looks great.

This is FL..where's the sunscreen???????????
For you i would bring wet naps, sanitizer gel for hands, and easy clean ups
sunglasses, maybe hats for the kids, small toys or something for kids to do in lines, watch the weather, we usually have small showers like everyday in the summertime...but they pass quickly..other than that..your list looks good..just don't forget the sunscreen, nothing is worse than trying to enjoy a vacation burnt like a lobster!!!!

Photocopy of your kttwc and/or park tickets. That way if they are damaged or lost it is a snap to have replaced at guest relations. They can usually make a copy for you at the front desk of your resort.

I also like to have a few ziplock bags in various sizes for leftover snacks, uneaten-but-will-be-finished-later candy, etc.

Tissues, and as pp mentioned handi wipes or some sort of anti-bacterial wipe (not only good for cleaning up sticky kids but for wiping down tables in cs places.)

Have fun!

Pick up a swimmers towel or two from the local sporting goods store. Or...use the chamois cloths they have in the auto care section of Target / Walmart etc. They are small, but very absorbent. They are great for drying off after a rain shower or after playing in the fountains, but they take up hardly any room. Our boys are 5 and (almost) 3 and they have more fun in the fountains than anything else. Go figure.

I can't believe I forgot sunscreen on my list!!! I have it on my master list, but I'm working on a "park bag list". Thanks for the reminders! If anyone else has anything to add, please do so.

So far I have:

extra clothes - DS3
wet wipes
rain ponchos - 4
camera
video camera
fans
batteries
small first aid kit - red bag
ziplocs - sandwich and quart sized
cell phones
autograph book / clip board & pen
touring plan book
snacks
water & water add ins
hats
sunglasses
sunscreen
stroller rain cover
hand sanitizer
small toys
small towel or chammie (sp?)

i dont take my guide book to the park. i know alot of people do. but i just cant do the weight of it. actually i've gotten down to practiclly bagless on most days. what i use i a small note book. the type that can fit into my back pocket. i make some notes into it about things we need to do, see or eat at.

also a small tip about the handsanitizer. but they've done studys about alcohol poisoning in chilren from using the hand sanitizer. they have it on there hands and then they put there hand in the mouth and then they're sick from the alcohol in it. i use a small pouch of wet ones one days wear we take the bag.

Question regarding the gum. Is is prohibited in the parks, or is it ok to bring your own? I could understand the restriction in AK is guess.

I'm looking for some cargo shorts. So I won't need to carry a bag. I've done the backpack full of stuff and end up never using any of it.

I'm good with some sunscreen(sample size), a couple of the wrapped wet wipes and a few band-aids. Plus, my KTTW card and a camera.

If I can't find the cargos that I want I might cave and get a fanny pack :scared1:

I will take the following:

Around my neck:
Lanyard with pins (will also hold my KTTW and PP card)

In my Bag:
Hand Sanitiser/Wipes
Money
Camera/Video Camera (DF will have the other)
Poncho
Sunscreen
Medication
Notebook/Plan

i found my cargo pants at old navy and target. or i found a really smally purse/bag at target. it holds my camera an extra memory card. then has spots for money and KTTW.

As little as possible!!!!

I have a 5 and 3 year old and i plan on bringing:

Small backpack w/:

Sunscreen
Mini-Fan's
Snacks/candy & water/juice
Brush
Lipgloss/chapstick
Wipes
Camera
Anitbacterial hand gel
Ziplocks
Laminated paper that has our ADR's, reservation numbers, phont numbers, park hours, emh hours, parade/firework schedules.

Autograph books & Pens

Sometimes an extra outfit if my dd is starting off with a princess dress and wants to change later.

Also, dh keeps room key, cash, park tickets in his wallet.

Pennies and quarters for the pressed penny machines.

As a first time visitor in Sept 09 (yayyyy!), what do you do with the backpacks when you get on the rides? Can you take them on the rides? I'm thinking it can't be too comfortable in the seats with that on your back, or do you put it at your feet and risk it getting thrown out?

Most rides are tame enough you can just hang onto the bag. I generally loop one of the backpack straps around my leg and make sure it's completely closed so nothing falls out. On the river rapids at AK, they (from what I've heard) have a place thats dry-ish to stick your bags.
